CFB has just turned into the NFL, but only with the stale parts and without the parity. And it sucks.
Yep.
That's what you get when you try to find ways to crown a "true champion" in a sport that was never designed to do that. The entire history of major college football is based on a subjective national champion and thus the sport was built around that premise.

Yup. The only sports left that are interesting are men's basketball and baseball.

My team sucks but the lack of parity in College Football is definitely turning a lot of the casual fans off from watching.

It’s complicated for sure, but they placed a limit once and they could do it again. Move those extra scholarships to FCS or other sports.
Sure, all those D-linemen prospects can just switch to water polo and gymnastics, or go to some obscure college with no facilities and never be heard from again, or learn to code.

The only other way is a draft. That can only happen when players start getting paid a salary and the guise of student athlete is dropped
If you have a draft, you’re making kids go to schools they don’t want to go to and may not have the ability to perform well enough academically to make their grades, and for 98% of the players, the most valuable thing they’ll get from the scholarship is an opportunity to get a degree. If you have to pay them, then the current problem will only get worse, unless you have a salary cap, recruiting will be all about who has the biggest wallet and richest boosters, and many programs couldn’t afford to pay players at all, and would have to drop football or a bunch of other sports entirely. How does that make things better for the players?

Stars don’t matter they could all break there legs and not play again.

I must be atypical.
I don't get caught up this crap. You people put way too much emphasis on the sport. Makes you look stupid.

I think we just did. Gus wasted and ruined a lot of good football players, and I don't think this Guy will. How Gus was able to beat ya'll at all, I'll never know

I've heard this ad nauseum. It's so silly. What's everyone else's goal? Like yall are the only game on our schedule.

I've said it and said it. The only way to "save" college football is to institute a "talent cap" for rosters and recruiting.

There must be some financial advantage. The NCAA is turning a deaf ear and blind eye to the monopoly... even in the midst of a pandemic where schools are taking massive revenue hits.
Congrats to Bama, Clemson and OSU on making the 2021-2025 playoffs.

So basically you're saying even though everyone has the same number of recruits (25 yearly, with 85 total roster), Alabama should be restricted to how good they collectively are?...Who decides how good each player is?
A "talent cap"!WTF!

A financial advantage playing college football? How can that be?
Oklahoma has been in the playoff, so has Oregon, Washington, Michigan State, Notre Dame, LSU.
And check out all those stars under the helmet of Michigan State and Washington, even Oregon players.

Aside from "I feel entitled to my favorite team being good", what reason is there to restrict where a teenager can pursue his football career and college education based on nothing more than how good he is according to a recruiting website?

Which in and of itself illustrates how dumb that snippet bama fans love to spout is.

With the 85 Scholarship limit and the 25 yearly cap, student athletes are already restricted in where they can go. I'm sure if it were still allowed, Bama would sign 50 kids every year.
