Could have ended up worse.

Saban wins super bowl with Dolphins.

Alabama hires and keeps Rich Rod and stays average.

Auburn hangs on to Duck Hunt Tuberville who is still coaching there today.

Mark Richt and Urban Meyer dominate the East until Meyer is driven into a heart attack by...

Sean Payton - the former Saints head coach who couldn’t find footing rebuilding a Katrina-damaged team without a star QB. After a grisly ending with Benson, he meets with Jerry Jones in Dallas where he is convinced to try college for a change of pace. Arkansas. The Razorbacks and a troubled kid has just gotten caught throwing a laptop out of a window. After a rebuilding year, Payton brings in Cam Newton and wins an NC. He follows that season with Johnny Manziel who helps begin a decade-long reign of flagship terror. Pigs. Slop. Oinks. Nothing but. Begrudgingly, the SEC becomes home of the Big 7 and we all gain 25 pounds of belly fat and lose 25 points of IQ. Arkansas is present for every CFP playoff and heads into the 2018 bowl season as a 20 point favorite.

To be fair, it's unlikely that LSU would have had much more success with Saban than they did Miles. Their career records through 11 seasons were essentially identical until Saban went to Alabama, when he suddenly became the best coach of all time.
I wholeheartedly agree. At Bama, the only thing is winning championships. No matter what it takes. And they will give complete control to a coach who can bring them titles. CNS would never have had that kind of control and support from the administration at LSU. Just the way it is.

Credit where credit is due. That is a good alternate timeline.

Yeah this is worse. tFlagship would have a mast full of wind instead of resting in the depths and this place would be unbearable.

Counting the Natty Saban got LSU in 03, if Nick stayed at LSU from then to now, how many Natty’s would he have won from 2003-2017?

In my opinion, two, maybe three tops. He would constantly be in the mix, year in and year out. But he just would not have the same degree of support at LSU that he has at Bama.

I’m more into the Saints being good than LSU, but both teams got a championship a few years later so it all kind of worked out.

OMG that is it, it is all over because one high school junior CB has “signed” with LSU for the 2020 season?

Good god man... do you remember when Fournette was the god-sent superman, unstoppable, generational, best player in the world....sure fire Heisman, so sure he posed against New Mexico State as a freshman?

Three years/games an about 60 yards total against Alabama. Then he finished 6th in Heisman, and quit on his ream with three games left to play...making an example followed by more and more Tigers.

I do love your enthusiasm... but isn’t that Rosetta glow usually reserved for new coaching hires? (Except 0).

As much as this place could use a reign of terror from Arkansas to liven things up this will never happen. The Sports gods are punishing us for Broyles running off Holtz, Hatfield, Richardson, and Blair. We are doomed to wander the desert of sport's futility.

One day we will appease the gods though. One day tFlagship shall raise from the depths and spread unholy terror upon this board and the SEC. The cry of Woo Pig Sooie will haunt your dreams. Its just a matter of time.

And here come the Bama tea baggers. Poisoning trees near you. Did you post this from prison?
