Nope.

It so obvious none of you can clue in as too just why a basketball coach would stay at WSU, Dayton, Xavier, etc over going to Bama...

It's Archie Miller or bust now IMO. Battle's inexperience as an AD has shown over the last 2 weeks. He put all his eggs very publicly in one basket while other teams hired solid coaches. Marshall never wanted to come to Bama. He was interested purely for the money and held out until WSU got close enough. This compromises our ability to land guys like Archie Miller because anyone else is now seen as our plan B. You don't fly on a plane and beg unless you know the deal is basically done. Gregg Marshall is not basketball's version of Nick Saban. We were not trying to steal an NBA coach.

Oh I know why. They're worshiped as gods their and they have way less pressure to win on them. Small programs like that have more patience.

@CecilHurt: Not sure who Alabama will get, but the AD has made it clear that whoever it is, he wanted a different guy. So that probably won't help.

If the AD has to hire a search firm in the next week or two, the candidate list has hit rock bottom...

If you are basketball coach, would you want to coach at basketball first school or at a school where basketball is 2nd or third fiddle?

It is that simple.

Bama basketball will never be as good of a job as others, size of the school doesn't matter there is a tourney that decides things.

Depends on the facilities and quality of athletes I have to build my program up. Alabama has plenty of money to throw at their basketball program and if they get the right guy, they will be able to recruit well. Billy Donovan did it at Florida.

So Saban would coach at Harvard for 10 Mil a year?

I'm sure their boosters could make that happen.
