you can call our team a pile of dogshit if you wan if it makes you feel better but we returned 17 starters from a team that finished 21 and 5 the last 2 years. i honesty think we can (but won't) run the table.

anyone who has a morsel of football understanding clearly sees we weren't paying up to our potential in the first 6 games of the year.

that's for another post

i want to answer the op's question berucase it was a great one.

I dno't see this season as a lost, beucase this team while it had some real talent, it also had some real holes on it, and it was razor thin in some places as well. us winning the SEC or even having a shot to, was predicated on a buncho f shite happening at once

1. our linebacker play not dropping off, which meant that 1 or 2 freshman LB's would have to step in and play right away

2. no injuries at all in the secondary. lol yeah we are starting a walk on and a true freshman now needless to say that did not work

3. knile being back. he isn't. at least yet. though i think it's more of a combination of things, our first and second string FB's beingo ut for the year basically and paul not really knowing the type of run plays knile likes to run like bobby did.

4. Herdon or Minor or someone stepping up as a legit 2nd reciver. actually brandon mitchell has not been bad at all but still

5. no injuries to gragg, hamilton, wilson, or the starting o line

gragg and wilson have missed a combined 7 games.

I think bobby petrino patch works us past ulm and figures out a way to beat rutgers. we weren't gonna beat the aggies, bama under any circusmtances.

the best i see bobby doing is like what, 9 and 3, most likely 8 and 4. too much shite had to go just righ this year.

Ms. State hasn't proven they can shut down our offense and their offense hasn't done jack on our shitty defense. Ole Miss is the same. LSU will depend on how long their defense is on the field and if ours can get their weak offense off it.

i actually agree with the other poster, miss state is our toughest matchup on paper. our offense, is the exact oppposite of what the gamecocks are designed to stop. Vandy had one damn reciever and they coudln't stop him, we will throw the ball around like we always do against south carolina they have a pathetic secondary, they just haven't faced anyone who can take advantage of it.

miss state on the ohter hand, has the best 1 / 2 corenrback tandem in the SEC. Banks and Broomfield are very very good. they can't stop the run but shite it's not like we are nebraska or anything. plus, we NEVER play good down there you know that. i can very easily see us losing that game in fact i don't have us coming out of that one on top.

lsu, meh. if we can give wilson some time we will win. if the o line is really coming around we will win that game.

we are over looking ole miss as well. it hink we can and will win that game but bo wallace is IMHO no worse than 3rd best QB in the SEC. he's like johnny football but.. less... less johnny i guess.

I don't care if he wins out and beats Bama - Fisher, Davis, or Strong (or Gruden, lulz) better be on that sideline when we play Wazzu.

Au Fans:

Very similar questions: I think you beat Vandy, NMST, A.A&M and could beat A & M. Say you win those three and somehow manage to beat UGA and finish the reg season 6 & 6.

Chizick could claim to have met expectations every year on the plains except for this year but finishing the season on a 5-1 run would be huge. Plus at 6 & 6 you might get a bowl invite.

Would you be willing to give Chiz the benefit of the NC year and realize the new OC & DC in year 2 should be better? Recruiting class sticks and you should be in a good position to truely compete in a few years? I remember when he was hired Au fans claimed it would take 4+ years for him to fix Tubs mess maybe it's 5 years?

If Chiz finishes 6-6, he will be back. 5-6 might get it done as well, but might not IMO.

We lose to either Vandy or A&M and he's gone, imo. Of course, 3 weeks ago I said that about Arkansas and Ole Miss, soooo.....

Either way, any less than 5-7 and he's shown the door
5-7 could go either way
6-6 and he probably stays
7-5 isn't going to happen

If the calls to Tallahassee haven't started yet (which I think they have), they'll start if we lose tomorrow.

Arky..a school of "firsts"

1) First to lose to OSU in a bowl game
2) First to lose to Texas A&M as a member of the SEC
3)First to come back and finish 2nd in the SEC west after losing to ULM and Rutgers.

I'm disappointed at how quickly the UPig delusion returns. After losses to ULM and Rutgers, and slaughterings from TAMU and Bama, I never would have imagined they'd be back at it with 2 wins over the absolute bottom of the SEC

I think it's a close call between 5-7 or 6-6. I had written the season completely off before the Auburn game, so I'm pleased to see signs of life even if they were against two teams having dumpster fire seasons. I appreciate what Petrino did to bring us back to relevancy, HATED to lose him, and think it will be many years before we get back to that level again. The end of the season pretty much cannot get here fast enough so that we can find out who our new coach will be and hopefully have some reason to be more optimistic about the outlook over the next few years.

I'm also hoping that Dooley, Chizik, Richt, and Mack Brown do just enough to keep their jobs, so that we have less competition in hiring the new coach.

Ill bite.

Arkansas fans know this team has turned a corner. How big of a corner has yet to be determined. Changes have been made that seem to be helping this team. If you think were delusional for saying we can win 3 of the next 6 and make a bowl, then hell yes were delusional. Run along.

Delusional =/= hoping to beat Ole Miss, Tulsa, and MSU. Delusional = showing confidence in winning out and finishing 2nd in the West.

We'll get a good coach

Seriously, they're fishing - Has anyone ever gone 8-4 to finish 2nd in the West? They were dumping on State, USCe, and LSU more than they were saying Arkansas was improving. JMHO
