@parkerbarrineau Got the phone call today from Coach Saban. Honored and very humbled to be put on full scholarship. Hard work pays off

Barrineau is a Northport, Ala., native, who attended American Christian Academy in Tuscaloosa. In 2013, Barrineau caught two passes for 16 yards in a reserve role on the Crimson Tide's offense.

This season, Barrineau played primarily on special teams for Alabama.

Saban must have processed one too many and realized he had some extra space.

PR stunt for signing Jonathan Taylor. Classic bama move............."Don't look over there. Look over here".

You don't understand

According to the SECR, Saban takes advantage of the "process" and cuts fully capable 4 and 5* scholarship athletes to make room for better 4 and 5* scholarship athletes. He would never stoop to putting a walk-on on scholarship. He's too busy telling the players already on scholarship to take a hike and leaving them on the streets to fend for themselves.

All that could still fit. Kid is basically an undrafted free agent.

Sort of odd timing. Usually happens in August. Does anyone know if this is for full year, or just Spring and Summer til the numbers have to match 85?

Good for him. He deserves the free ride far more than Taylor.
