If Kiffin just pulled what he did here at lsu and deciding on Alabama or Texas, bailing on a playoff team.. tigerdroppings would absolutely crash daily
They would melt so hard. It’s easy to call another fanbase on this until it happens to them

Under some pretty crippling sanctions.

That melt will come within 2 years.. I don't see him making too year 3 without going to playoff in the first 2 seasons.. LSU has a hard road for that in the first season of Lane too.

If Texas tech can do it so can we..I know they have a billionaire backing them but our administration, NIL, and boosters are all aligned. We have the framework in place so Golding has a chance to keep things rolling he can take his time hiring a great OC and DC. If it doesn't work out coaches know Ole Miss is serious about resources committed to football

It’s fun to frick with them. They are VERY insecure that everyone is shitting on their hire.

Like all coaches, Goldings success will largely come down to who he gets as OC and DC. That, and our NIL collective remaining strong.

Idk if they actually think that we're melting or They're just feeling cocky because they think they're about to go on a 10 year undefeated run now that they have Kiffin

I’m not melting at all in fact I’m even more excited.

I am about to take a long digital detox. Twitter is completely unreadable, and it was barely readable prior to the Lane Chronicles.
I think people actually use social media as a barometer for what’s happening in reality. If you looked at Twitter, LSU and Ole Miss fans have the zoomies, while Florida fans keep acting like anyone cares what they are saying.

So do we. I won’t say who but there’s a very prominent Texan who dropped $20 million to keep Kiffin. That was just one of the ones who stepped up.

Yeah we have some big money folks. Obviously we aren’t gonna be on the level of Texas or A&M but we’re better off than certain other SEC schools.

Oh I do give him credit. I never said anything different. I was talking about this season when I said we won in spite of him. I really think he wanted to lose certain games to make the leaving much easier. I think he started angling for LSU a looong time ago. To me, it's not just mere coincidence that his daughter happened to do the relationship publicity with Weeks the week of our game with LSU.
But it was time for him to go. Too many off field issues with that guy and he did more damage to our brand this year than he did boosting it. He lied about our crowds and our support. People still claim that we never go to games and 2025 had record attendance. We averaged 104.6% of capacity this season.

Bingo Bango.
And no one is bringing as much heat as Lane Kiffin does, for good or bad. That guy is the personification of a Faustian pact. Ole Miss will have to hustle more to maintain the national profile that's been earned because we don't have Football Kardashian here anymore, but it can be done.

I'm really glad we are done with Kiffin. He was a shitbag. I think we won in spite of him a lot. I'm glad that he was able to galvanize our fanbase to contribute to the program and he brought us national attention, but the dickhead was a psychopath and it was time to move on.
I'm not super happy about Golding but I don't know who else out there was any better this year.
I was so relieved driving back to Dallas Saturday night and Bama won so we didn’t have to deal with his drama anymore.
In regards to Pete, with everything that is coming out now it sounds like he held things together all season as Kiffin was to preoccupied with his plans to leave. Go look at Kiffin’s record before PG came and then after.

I’m just not sure Pete inspires that same level of branding maybe we can just focus on the football now.
Who cares about “branding”. That’s for cocker spaniel owners. Pete is the guy who put the structure around all our portal and recruiting efforts. He is the one that kept this ship moving forward. Lane was planning this after totally fxcking up the most talented team we have ever had. Everything to Juice and that fake documentary was geared towards his exit if you really think about it. Eli Manning took a huge shot at him yesterday about not attending a single meeting before the Egg Bowl.

Building the brand is essential now that NIL is a thing.
Ole Miss and the Rebel Grove are the brands that will draw attention, Pete and his staff will close them. We don’t need fake social media hype to get top talent.

Eli saying that and what a few of was already seeing in games like Gators and Egg bowl shows.. That comment he said seems to be very true

don't sit here and try to convince me or anyone else with your revisionist history that Lane shouldn't get 95% of the credit for building Ole Miss into what you are today. Y'all were 20-28 in the 4 years prior.
What was Lane’s record pre PG as compared to to after PG arrived?

I don’t think it’s strange to say programs at that time still hit their stride in year four with a new coach, and that’s factoring in the Covid era. Not saying Pete Golding isn’t a great DC, but it wasn’t long ago building a program took longer to build.
Point being, I think Pete Golding could be a huge success at Ole Miss but naturally it’s been really popular to downplay what Lane Kiffin brings to the table.
