In-state recruiting is about to get easier since Dak is gone. State is about to go back to winning 5 or 6 games a year while we keep win 8+ a year. Recruits won't want to go to State then unless they are retarded.

State's class is 31 atm -- they're really reaping the benefits of that GOAT player and weeks at top 1 in 2014.
Their fans will be fine with it because they trolled us with Simmons.

State is 32 on ESPN after the dust has cleared some. They got a mention on Simmons, but that's about it.
EDIT: We're still top 3 on ESPN. They're talking about us on the Deuce.
EDIT2: Right after that, Bama jumped us. We're 4 now.

Don't forget Conner moving to CB. that is a solid secondary for the future. The Dline isn't as deep as we wanted but not something to be ashamed of.

So can anybody explain what must have been going on with Simmons. I have a hard time believing there was this big conspiracy to fool Ole Miss. One thing is w/o quesiton, we were wayyyyy overconfident and along with a bunch of reporters who were all in and completely sure about Simmons. For me it's not getting him that stings, it's being absolutely sure we were getting him and then at the last second didn't. I suppose this is how Georgia felt with Tunsil.

We fell out of the top 5 on 247. Oh well.

He played us. It sounds like he never had any intention of going to Ole Miss. Props to him on the trolling, it was masterful.

You've got to read between the lines. It is obvious from our staff's reaction that he had told them he was coming to OM.

Congratulations on the big class. The Magnolia Bowl is going to be off the charts with talent the next few seasons.
If you have time, I HIGHLY recommend you guys read this open letter written by Drake Davis. I know he signed with LSU, but it's an article all college football fans will enjoy. it's very short too.

First off I think our reporters know about as much as the people one here do. Those of you with twitter probably know more than they do. They interview a kid after he visits Ole Miss and he says good things and they run with it to say he's a lock. I think our staff felt pretty good about him but I also think maybe they took his commitment for granted. Miss State recruited him harder than anyone, did we recruit him harder than we did Gary, Kongbo, Juarez? I don't blame the staff for going after the best players in the nation, that's why we are in the great position we are in now, but it will come at the cost of losing some in state kids that we take for granted and assume they are coming to Ole Miss. Again, I know they recruited him hard and made him a huge priority, but we wasted a long of time and effort on Gary and Konbgo.
