But the thing is if we have a good recruiting class and a pretty good season, you certainly aren't gonna see a coaching change.

For some reason the Ole Miss fanbase is ok with being mediocre and it is pathetic

A lot of that though is because a significant portion of our fan base is more concerned about the fashion show in The Grove. Reality bro. I was thrilled when we got Hugh and was tired of the whole mentality that it’s our destiny to be a bottom feeder in the SEC. Once he got players to buy in, Senquez, Hilton, Bryant, Core, Prewitt, and I could go on, things changed. Hopefully Mr. Luke can keep that going.

The sad thing is, a top 20 crootin’ finish will make one of the best Ole Miss crootin’ finishes in literally ever.

I hated the Matt Luke hire, but I would support an anthropomorphic ventriloquist dummy come to life if it could beat Bama, Auburn, and LSU (if you can beat those three, the Egg Bowl results become both irrelevant and obvious simultaneously). Hell, I’d love to remember what it’s like to beat the Swine too, and frick Jimbo Fisher.

If we win 6 games, unfortunately Luke will likely get a pass. He might even get a pass with 5 wins, which I find unacceptable, but I fully predict Gumballs won’t have the grapes to tell Bjork that Ole Miss and Luke have “mutually decided to part ways.” We will never fire an alumnus who makes us bowl eligible, and that’s where the real evil of complacency and the GOB Network come in, because frick the Independence Bowl. Cutcliffe went there enough to be the mayor of fricking Shreveport, and literally every SEC school, even Vandy, has enough football revenue to where at least 6 wins should be the floor these days

This entire post is why OM will always remain a mediocre program.

I agree. It’s sad that we have the revenue to bring in a good coach but no one will step up and make it happen. And honestly guys , I’m not trying to be a downer and not give Luke a chance, but we honestly deserve better. Luke is a great guy and probably loves Ole Miss more than anyone, but I just don’t see him as being the coach we need or deserve. I’m not putting him down as a person, and I’m glad he’s trying hard to recruit, but the shoes he’s trying to fill is way to big for him.

I have been a fan since being in the womb, and understand that some of our better seasons were just winning 8 or 9 games, but I want more. And I believe that if we get the right personnel in here we can be better than that. I mean I’m not still holding on to us beating Alabama back to back, but it shows if we can find the right people we can make the next step.
We have the funding. We have the facilities. We have the atmosphere and support, but we have to have someone step up and make all that come together. I wouldn’t be upset if we cleaned out the the whole Athletic Department and tried to start over. Maybe that’s the wrong way to look at it, but I’m ready to take that next step and we have seen glimpses that we can.

I’m not trying to put Ole Miss down in any way because I love our Rebels. I’m just ready to take the next step. I like the 9 win seasons but I don’t like the mindset of being ok with that every year.

Tavario Standifer has torn his Achilles and is expected to miss his senior season at Tupleo.... tough break for that kid. It’s pretty hard to come back from that.

Impossible. I was told Luke loves Ole Miss so much that this wouldn't happen. Kid must have been told he was going to get kicked off the team and he's doing this to save face.

No way Luke's love for Ole Miss made this kid transfer

I wish him well. Blow to depth?

Unless he moved positions, Mathis was probably 4th string at best at tight end. Knox and Cooley were for sure ahead. And Gabe Angel made a few decent catches in the Grove Bowl so I’d imagine he would have been ahead as well. Possibly even Alex Faniel.

Hmm, another 4* (or higher) from the 2016 class who couldn’t see the field

Not really a blow to depth. TE and WR is a place we can lose these guys that aren’t producing and are deep down the depth chart. Maybe he could be something by his senior year but this frees up a scholarship for someone that can produce now.

Just a case of Freeze star chasing. We already had two 4* TE in that class before we signed this guy. Should’ve spent that scholarship on a linebacker

I much prefer that to the shite show we have now. I would hope most of our fanbase would considering that's the only way we will ever get above mediocre 7-8 win seasons with a mid level bowl

Believe me, when I make enough money I'm going to throw it around. And if Ole Miss threatens to disassociate me from the program, I'll still throw money around.

Why aren't we recruiting WR like we did in the past? I am not saying the kids we are getting are bad but they aren't on the same level as we have become to expect.
