Which coach could we have realistically hired is recruiting better than we are right now? Just asking

We are too great. The sheer quantity is impressive. Class will end up top 50 maybe.

I believe that Bjork had Dave Doering getting on the plane to fly to Ole Miss when Vitter the Feeble called Ross and told him that Luke had been hired.

We signed 2 4 stars in the ‘18 class and have 2 WRs on the roster that are high round talent along with a few others that will get drafted.
Kids like AJ brown and DK aren’t just popping up all over the map every year.

Chad Morris will be a bust at Arkansas

If Chad Morris had gotten the gig, wouldn’t you just be bitching about his connection to the Tuohys and how Ole Miss will never get out of its own way until we stop making nepotism hires?
I think we can do better than Morris, or Pruitt, or Doeren, or Matt Luke. I don’t think we could’ve done better than any of them in 2017 though, and the current class, despite the fact that it’s all quantity, does have a higher composite star ranking than any of the top 20 classes Orgeron inked, and it’s certainly better than any of Cutcliffe or Nutt’s classes

Try again, jackass

Chad Morris is overrated as hell. He won't last at Arkansas, and would have been a worse selection than Matt Luke

I probably will, likely the next time you get mad that we landed a 4* QB or highly rated Mississippi kid or something else nonsensically petty and counterproductive

So you've been impressed with Ole Miss recruiting exactly twice in your life more or less? Have you missed the past two years, or the five year investigation that led up to it? Why do you expect us to reel in a class on par with the best classes in program history when we have multiple former student athletes, including a high-profile former 5* #1 ranked QB, lawyering up against us alleging we lied to them, on top of a pending bowl ban until further notice? Though supposedly we'll get the NCAA response to the appeal tomorrow.
Realizing that this shite definitely affects our recruiting, which it certainly has over the past 2.5 cycles, is not the same as accepting mediocrity. No one with a pulse liked the Luke hire, but I think it's kinda shitty to piss on Matt Luke's effort for already assembling a class that's better than most Cutcliffe and Nutt classes (and around an Orgeron class), and he's working on one that should likely be at least that good for 2019, regardless of whether he even still has the job next February. After all, we only have eight more months until the first signing period comes around to dog curse him for when he actually messes up on the crootin' trail, on top of whatever games he loses... Why get mad at him for landing a competitively recruited QB from out of state? If you want 5*s every year regardless of cheating and players suing you and whatnot, I'd suggest Auburn or something, but, even then, don't shite your britches when you only get one (like LSU did in 2018) or two 5*s a cycle (or none at all, like Auburn and aTm did in 2018). We're still facing NCAA ramifications, yet we're landing some competitively recruited kids. That bodes well for when we're not facing NCAA ramifications not too far in the future

Without the NCAA shite he’s would assemble a similar class. The top online under him were recruited by kiffin.

Like I’ve said before in a post, I’ve been around here quite a while, just had to change names cause I couldn’t remember the other. But let me start by saying this. I love when we get high 5 stars. The more the merrier. But we also have had plenty of 3 stars that have been huge difference makers. It feels like they come in with a chip on their shoulder and play harder.
A lot, not all, top stars know they’re good and feel like they will make it on name alone. They know they will start and may not put all their effort into it. I’ve always enjoyed, not just playing for us, seeing a field of guys trying to prove themselves every down. And I’m sure there’s data to back up bigger stars being drafted higher, but I wonder how many of them are really names and had lower stars who actually had better numbers.
If you go back and look or think about it, we had one of the most fun landshark d’s to watch a few years ago with lower star guys. I have never liked the ranking system. Some kids can’t make it to all the camps or ever get looked at so they never have a chance. I can’t tell you how many guys from our own state I have seen play in high school, that dominated on the field, but couldn’t get a coach to help them get noticed or parents who didn’t care. Thank God this place is anonymous because I myself have made amateur video for some recruits who had no help from anyone and sent them out to a ton of schools. Most of the time they at least finally got noticed. We have a ton of small schools most people have never heard of. A lot of the guys at those schools don’t have the means to be able to go to a bigger high school.
I’m not sure when I said it, but I remember saying it years ago under my other account. Even when we were getting high 5 stars, that give me a team full of guys who come in and play with a chip on their shoulder, and trying every single down, no matter what star was beside their name, and I would be just as happy as to having high 5 star guys who believe they are entitled. Again not all of the high ranked guys are like that, but I have seen in my time that quite a few are. This is only just my opinion and thoughts and know it really doesn’t matter. Here’s to getting back that hard nose landshark D. Defense will win you some games you’re not supposed to win. Oh yeah and to also add, let’s try to look at getting the right coaches here to train them up right or see what the coaches we have may need to get those guys over the top and trained up correctly.
Eta: And no that isn’t just settling for just who we can get. I just don’t like some of the ranking systems.

Just because you didn’t like the hire doesn’t mean you should ignore how obvious obstacles have affected us on the crootin’ trail. On top of the NCAA shite, I assure you other schools are using the Patterson (et al.) situation against us, especially since Luke and a lot of the rest of our staff was part of Freeze’s staff that allegedly “misled” kids

I was looking over our class and saw Diwun Black listed as an Ath. What position would he play? The Dude is massive at 6ft 4" and 230-240

Linebacker. He won LB MVP at The Opening in Dallas recently.
