Eh, maybe. OU win is definitely better than PSU. IU loss might be better but was also bigger margin. I’d be fine either way

Lane straight up said in the presser 'We didn't call the best of plays on a few drives and that happens sometimes' while doing the 'My Bad' pat on the chest. He doesn't hide from any mistakes they make. Damn I hope he stays. Most coaches don’t own up to that kind of stuff and he said ‘We.’ Didn’t throw Trinidad or CW Jr under the bus.

You keep saying this. But I don't think you're taking into consideration the seeding aspect.
I think the best possible outcome is to finish 3rd in the SEC. That makes us possibly the 4 seed and we get a bye and an easier path forward. And two (or three) weeks off.
Go 10-2 and we risk getting left out. Or getting a 10 or 11 seed and matched up against Ohio State or TAMU.
I think going 11-1 is extremely important to making a playoff run.

Saw CBS' prediction this morning where we would be a #6 seed hosting #11 UVA in the first round. Then we would be matched up against Bama.
Given the likely top 4, and the rest of the top 12, that's about as favorable of a path as possible to the semi-finals.

Lacy is probably the biggest difference between this years team and last year. We really lack tough physical running last year and he fights for every yard. We were 2 first half turnovers away from blowing out South Carolina.

And let me add: This is the Egg Bowl. Mississippi State. I don't ever want to say this game is meaningless. frick those guys. We should bury their face in the mud and never let up. I want our dominance over them to bleed out into every aspect: social, athletic, academic. I want them to consider leaving the conference.

Judging by Lane’s presser, I am sure he is hammering this into the team. You have to finish. I didn’t realize we had two consecutive 8-1 starts in back to back years just a couple of years ago. They cannot let this get to their heads.
I would anticipate they will spend a day or two at most on Citadel and prep heavy for Florida. If this team doesn’t absolutely smoke Citadel, they have no business in the playoffs. That game needs to be done by the 2nd half and get other guys reps. If Chambliss goes down we need a “warm” Simmons.
We left so many points on the board against USCe after rewatching. Stribling making it to the 1 and then us settling for a FG just isn’t going to cut it. Chambliss’s INT was ugly. Lane said he recognized he was having an off night therefore the emphasis on getting the run game going..
The holding was not necessary, that would have been an INT regardless. This could have and should have been a bigger blowout. Defense really stepped up.
All these programs burning to the ground could result in some great portal hauls. OM must make the most of all of this right now. It’s a new era, and so many opposing fans are in denial about our funding.
