OU finishes top 5 every year currently.

Historically, OU has raided Texas for recruiting. I don't think that would change if they moved to the SEC, especially if there are two SEC programs in the Lone Star State.

Total OU signees/TX signees
2021 - 16/6
2020 - 23/12
2019 - 24/10
2018 - 23/9
2017 - 28/9

I think this, combined with NIL, is going to be very bad for us and lots of smaller programs. TU has enough independently wealthy donors to pay every damn player on the team a million dollars per year just for doing things like car commercials. That will be bad enough. Now, put them in the SEC, effectively bidding against us for those players who want to be in this conference. No thanks. I think they will be running shite in 5 years. JMO.

Sure but this move guarantees the SEC is the driving power behind any future college athletics moves - including the eventual break from the NCAA. That guarantees us a seat at the table when the break comes.

Put OU, UT, and ND in the B1G and they may the ones calling the shots. At that point, there's no guarantee we survive the eventual super conference / break from the NCAA

I really hate this. In 30 years will be talking about our semi-annual rivalry game with Iowa State.

I don’t like that at all. As someone else pointed out it’s the old southwest conference with Ole Miss, LSU and MSU thrown in.

I don’t think people are adequately seeing how this could totally eff us up down the road. Not bc these schools become powers but rather once they decide to reformat football and make smaller conferences again, who do you think is getting left out?

I don’t know about y’all but the SECRant is about as insufferable as I have ever seen it and it is the dead of summer. I wish we never let the Taxas or OU fans access to it!

We’ll just have to ignore the hell out of them. That will drive them nuts.

With the NIL and all the conference shakeup, I can see myself no longer giving a chit and disengaging from college football.
