frick that. Why would y’all pull for them? It’s like trying to be best friends with a man after finding out he is fricking your wife
Not quite.
Do you want to have gotten beat by the eventual champion or by some team that gets steamrolled in the CWS?
Plus, I grew up close by to Murray, have been going there my entire life, and have friends around there.

Nah it’s more like the guy who has never gotten any action is finally getting some but in the process they fricked you over. But deep down you’re still pulling for them because you’d rather it be them than some other POS.
Also these metaphors are stupid.

Even though they beat us, seems pretty easy to root for Murray State. Really like their coach. Hitters focus on contact and stay aggressive.Their pitchers gutted it out on short rest to go all in to win. Read today where the head coach actually cuts the field they play on. Every big win you see him going to find his son before anything. Had his team maintain their compsure after the double play was overturned yesterday. Definitely the kind of guy I'd love to be leading my program and certainly a guy that I think would make quite a few trips to Omaha if handed a top 10-15 baseball program. (Hoping you are bored and read the rant Keith Carter)

Speaking of which, their field is so much larger than what Tennessee & Auburn play on. Auburn's stadium doesn't even have full length foul lines.

Smithwick entered the portal today. Understand his reasoning but still stucks to lose a kid that was so highly rated and truly wanted to be an Ole Miss baseball player. It's unfortunate he just wasn't able to get things to click here but hope he has success elsewhere.
That 2023 class was supposed to be a big one and all we have left is Brayden Randle and Taylor Rabe.

We need to find at least 2 more arms and throw a big check at Hunter Elliott and Judd Utermark to keep them here. We need a real shortstop too.

1 arm found. 1 to go.

The outfielder from Indiana State committed too

1 arm
2 bats
These 3 were really big gets.

Better hope the MLB draft is kind to us because 2 of the 3 are draft risks

The logical side of me knows investing more into basketball and less into baseball is the “smart move” but watching the CWS makes me want that again.

That's always the case with the good transfers but it's encouraging because it shows that recruiting at an elite level is coming back to us.

So here’s the best way I can frame this up. So far I haven’t watched any of the CWS. And by that, I mean none. And that’s because OM is not in it. So I couldn’t care less. On the other hand, even if OM were not in the NCAA basketball tournament, I would have watched plenty of that. It’s just so different… and way yonder better.

Exactly. It’s just emotion in the moment that has me thinking “yeah maybe we should do more”. Thankfully we have an AD that seems to understand that.

fricking hell. It's like a broken record in here. We get it, you and HJJ are bigger basketball fans. That doesn't have to come at the expense of baseball. Stop shitting on baseball. We've seen that we can be successful at both. Personally, I don't give 2 shits about indoor sports. I never will. Baseball is a rising sport. Attendance is rising, coverage is increasing, and money is growing.
We have a chance to be on the forefront of it and stay a power program. I don't understand you two wanting to sacrifice it in place of a sport we will never win a championship at, especially post House Settlement.

Hahaha what? I like baseball. I never said we should “defund” or the like. It’s just very slow paced. Really no comparison

Cool, but that's just because you like basketball better. I've been watching the CWS (like always) and I can't remember ever watching a non Ole Miss basketball game.
It's all personal bias. What's not bias is Ole Miss baseball generates money - basketball doesn't.

Sorry. I fell asleep watching college baseball. Yeah, you're absolutely right. All personal preference. I’ll leave it alone.

2 arms - check
2 bats - check
2 bats - check
