You think Ryan Day would have gone to the playoff with this roster this year?

A few of y’all need to calm down and trust the process. We can field a great team some years, but it’ll take time to compete with the upper echelon of our conference. We lost nearly every contributing piece from last year’s 10-win team and still won 8 games. We probably won’t ever have the depth to overcome that kind of attrition on a yearly basis, but the encouraging thing right now is that the “blue bloods” wont be able to stockpile 5* talent like they have before. Talented backups will transfer if they don’t get playing time. This helps programs like ours and hurts the ones we’re chasing.

I truly believe we’re entering a new era of Ole Miss football, and I think we’ll be a lot more competitive on a yearly basis, but we’ll also lose games along the way—some more disappointing than others. So many of our fans have zero awareness of where our program was compared to where we’re trying to take it. We have one good season, and some of you frickers act like we’re Bama.

Also, paying a coach a huge salary doesn’t guarantee anything. It just means you’re trying. Lane has flaws, but is probably the best coach (top to bottom) that we’ve ever had. I trust his approach implicitly, and I hope he stays here forever.

8-5 is no reason to trust him especially implicitly

Ummm, I don’t think anyone said a word about the playoff?

Yep and no one is arguing against that logic…..

Well I guess you can “believe” while we observe what is right in front of us…..I mean loosing 5 of your last six, playing footsy with an SEC rival to get a $2M increase in salary and then having an epic choke job that would make a throat fricking whore blush on national TV…..did you see how bad our OL played? I mean they couldn’t block a pack of geriatric dachshund’s. How about going for it on 4th down on your 11 yard line? Then the gall to bring up racist comments and spitting in the presser is icing on the damn cake.

The frick it doesn’t. Kiffin and his PoS agent played games so they better pony up to the big boys table. It is 100% business now that he has shown again and again he gives no fricks about Ole Miss. fricking get off the couch and get more than 12 HS recruits, hold your coaches accountable while firing dead weight and earn that $9M without embarrassing the fan base,

Kiffin better not say shite next season about the fans

We are paying you 9 million a year, 10 million in NIL with new stuff being announced weekly.. stop deflecting and fricking win games. Quit blaming the fans because you can’t get your head out of your own arse and go for it nonsensically on 4th down all the damn time

It wasn’t the fans fault you were so interested in auburn that the team and staff were preoccupied and not Focused for the Arkansas game or the egg bowl

I couldn't agree more. Kiffin rapidly burned through a lot of the goodwill he had built up in November. He had complete control of the situation and could've quashed it with one emphatic statement in a press conference. But he didn't, because he still doesn't know if he wants to be here, despite making more than all but about a half dozen college football coaches.

Do you know who Kiffin makes more than?
- Jim Harbaugh
- Sonny Dykes
- Luke Fickell
- Chris Klieman
- Kyle Whittingham
- Ryan Day

None of them have won the SEC West either.

Zach Evans is entering the draft. Not particularly surprising.

Best of luck to him, and I don’t blame him at all. Go make some money.

Exactly. As a RB you have a limited shelf life to make your money and returning wasn't likely to improve his draft stock.

The only thing that hurts his draft stock is the perception that he is injury prone. Hate that because I think he is a legit 2nd or 3rd rounder. Maybe my Bears can pick him up since Montgomery is likely gone.

That’s fine. I’m excited about Reescano and hopefully Bentley will be healthy next season.

What? He decided to stay. If we didn't pay him, someone else would have been/will be happy to. He already told us he will be building through the portal. Seems foolish to demand he fill limited spaces with highschool kids.

it baffles me that people are surprised when a coach who had to be contractually paid millions to come all of the sudden might not "give a frick about Ole Miss".

I personally don't give a frick if he gives a frick about Ole Miss. He just better give a frick about winning. We're giving him a pass on an 8 win season at Ole Miss....think about that for a sec.

And if you really want a coach that gives a frick about Ole Miss, Matt Luke can be had for cheap.

Yeah if people actually wanted someone who gave a shite about Ole Miss, they’d hire Freeze back. At the end of the day, Kiffin is paid to win games. I don’t give two shits if he loves Ole Miss or Oxford as long as he wins

I am not saying he needs to bleed red and blue but better stop annual flirtations. It damages stability and has a negative impact on the program. You can’t say it doesn’t.

Also you want to frick around and exhort top 5 salary you better perform. I personally could give two shits now if he stays or goes now after how he screwed up the end of this year…..and it is 100% on his a-hole behavior.

Completely agree…

Paying 9 million for 8-5 with losses to Alabama/lsu/Arkansas and State and Texas tech … it is 2000 all over again???… hell we could pay 3 million for someone else and get the same results .

Everyone needs to step off the ledge. If we go 8-5 again then let’s start to question what’s going on.

He does need to make some sort of coaching changes on the defensive side.

Need a new OC, Co-DC, and Special Teams Coordinator at a minimum. Anything less and Kiffin isn’t serious about winning. We’re building for a playoff run in 2024.
