This is like a bad dream. Matt Luke seems to be acting just like Cutcliffe. Recruiting nothing but 3 star players is going solidify us as a mediocre at best football program.

Well. He did consult with Cutcliffe after accepting the job. A coach who managed to squander a once-in-a-generation talent like Eli Manning.

"Stop being so negative. Take your negativity somewhere else. Give him a chance! He loves Ole Miss! You can't expect much more than what we have considering the sanctions?"

Cutliffe was a real head coach. A mediocre one at that.

Hope the Luke can match that level.

I spoke with Matt at an alumni event in New York 2 weekends ago. He seems optimistic, but that’s just his attitude.

I share the hope that he can reach a coaching level that is at least serviceable. He seems like a nice guy, but his coaching prowess and knowledge needs work.

I know we’re all rooting like hell Matt Luke is a great coach and kills it, but does anyone actually believe he’s coaching this team in 2020? I’ve been under the assumption he’s getting paid to pretty much try and keep us afloat for a year or 2 and make sure there’s at least a little bit of talent here and then he gets fired for a real coach. Again, I hope he ends up SEC coach of the year, I just don’t see it. But I also didn’t see freeze having the success he had so hopefully I’m wrong again

Luke will be in a short leash. He needs to prove himself in the first 2 years as full time HC or else he’s gone IMO. Not much room for error.

I agree year two 7-5 he gets a 1 year extension. If they give him 4 then fire everyone.

If Matt Luke is a great coach and kills it, then that's great for the program and more power to him.

But by kill it, I mean 10+ wins. SECCG appearances. Playoff appearances.

HJJ this might be the only time we’ve agreed on anything. We 100% coulda done better than Luke.

Who would you like to see, that is not named Freeze, as the Ole Miss head coach. Realistically.

Mike Leach or Bill Clark. If we go after a coordinator then Jeff Scott at Clemson.

Anyone that says any of those 3 are unrealistic shouldn't be taken seriously

Bill Clark would’ve been a hell of a hire here. If nothing else we’d scare the bejesus out of Bama and Auburn on the recruiting trail.

Cutcliffe was shitty shitty coach. He could barely achieve mediocrity with a loaded roster. Like is no better and we are simply wasting years because of this bonehead hire.

We're getting 3 star because we're on probation.

I'm just glad that the pressure to win is off and we can get back to focusing on the party.
