The Mascot is not great. Being older, I would have liked it to look more like the SNL landshark back in the 70's.
It did appear to attract the attention of the kids. And I for one, believe it a better option long term than the Bear.
It also has roots at home and comes from one of our own. As for those who think it doesn't transcend the different sports, you see all athletes upon making great plays throw a "fins up" in celebration. Now that it is an official part of the Ole Miss logos, it will continue to spread to the other sports.
The logos are great. I like the shark shaped M, the fins up and the fin over the state of Mississippi.
Shouldn't be a problem selling clothing merchandise with the shark shaped M.

I like the primary logo and the block M.
Script M is awful and needs to be thrown in the trash.
Block Rebels & OM >>>> script Rebels, but I’m fine with all of them.
And I like the state shape shark fin more than the other shark logos but I feel like the other two will grow on me.

I really hope this thread doesn't get over 6 pages. Its a damn mascot. No sense in getting worked up over it. Let it be for the kids like its suppose to. Just win games.

I have never understood why some people like the block M. I hate that generic logo and don't like the script M either.

The bridge mark is probably my favorite new logo. As far as the new mascot is concerned, it’s dumb as hell, but pretty much all mascots are dumb as hell. It gives me Street Sharks nostalgia though, so I support that. Ultimately I’m pretty ambivalent, but I’m happy the results weren’t the product of a sham election this time. At least the school isn’t trying to hang this decision on the students. Still, I was never a fan of picking a mascot that pretty much only applies to football and only concerns an extremely brief blip of our athletic program’s history. Fein and the subsequent Landshark D are great, but it seems silly to pick a mascot that represents less than a decade total of just one aspect of one of the program’s teams, albeit the program’s most profitable one
