So my question is unless he doesn’t like Lane why go to OU? Likely makes more here without all the unknowns. At OU he has a lot of factors that right now are up in the air (recruiting, transfers, working with a new staff & Admin).

The landscape is a bit depressing. However, I lived there for 3 years and they have some of the nicest people I've ever met.

He wouldn't be the head guy though. If Venables is a good HC then he would be there indefinitely.
I get the draw of coaching at your alma mater but he wouldn't be the HC. His HC options only keep getting better by staying at OM and he'd likely get a chance to have Gabriel run his offense again (maybe he would get the same option at OKie?).
The radio personalities sure were talking it up this AM.
