The Sugar Bowl is a playoff game this year. So if we go 10-2 we are looking at probably the Chick Fil A bowl or the Orange Bowl. I would prefer the Orange Bowl personally

I'm more about matchups than location. I want to play another power 5 team over Air Force / whatever group of 5 team makes it

There’s a lot that goes into how that relationship has soured. In 2020, jimbo made a lot of non public comments about our game getting cancelled due to Covid which got them off on the very wrong foot. Lane started going after him in press conferences, and ever since then A&M has seemingly watched our recruiting like hawks and gone after every single person that we’ve gone after. It’s like clockwork, we offer a kid then A&M offers him and sets up a visit and starts negatively recruiting us. There is blood boiling hatred this game, and I know we have sleptwalked through some games but this is absolutely not one I would expect for that to happen at. Lane refuses to lose this game

Remember, pretty much everyone said 8-9 was the absolute ceiling after last years debacle and seeing how brutal our schedule was. 10-2 would make for one of the best seasons in our history considering our strength of schedule.
A&M is a scary game, because this is the one we historically lose. About to set up a top 10 matchup vs the number 1 team in the country. I can remember a dozen times we’ve shite the bed in a game like this and threw a wet blanket on the hype for the big matchup . That said, I’m oddly confident Lane pulls it off for some reason, especially at home.

I love the fact we have defended Vaught Hemingway so well under Kiffin.

Now I’m curious how many times we’ve blown it. Freeze started 7-0 in 14 which was the first time since Vaught so I’m sure there’s a dozen in there since the 60s

At the risk of sounding overconfident, I love this matchup. Our Achilles heel will be Dart throwing dumb picks like Vandy and offensive play calling.
This is Lane’s best defense and Our defense matches up perfectly with Aggie offense. Their skill players are good not great and Johnson is a game manager who we beat with a worse defense in 2021. Yeah Golding will give up some dumb 3rd down conversions but we should hold them to 21 points or less.
Now on offense. If we stay on schedule with runs and short passes, we are golden. But A&M has dudes on the D Line. So if we run jet sweeps we are going to be in 2nd and 15 all day and we may not score 24. Kiffin has to call a normal game for once.
TL;DR this is probably more Arkansas or Tulane game than LSU and if we play to our potential this could be over at halftime.

This is just like LSU. That game was called beautifully compared to the rest of the year. You can’t tell me Kiffin was not super involved in the offense that game. Well considering he has a great deal of personal animus towards Jimbo, you think he won’t be all in on Saturday?
