How do we feel about Trinidad possibly being the QB Saturday?

This is exactly why they brought him here for .

I feel like we screwed ourselves by a stupid play call in the Kentucky game. Trinidad might do great if he starts Saturday, but not having Simmons because we decided to call an unnecessary qb run with a qb that doesn't like to run, is just frustrating. Simmons was already dealing with an injury when that play was called, just don't understand what was going through their minds when they sent that play in.

Is Simmons officially out?

That whole playcalling sequence was garbage.

Run up the middle.
Run up the middle.
Run Simmons around the left side.

All we needed was one first down.

Not officially, but basically every single Rebels reporter has said that Simmons hasn't practiced at all this week and Chambliss is on-line to start this weekend

Anytime Kiffin lists someone is “Questionable” then there’s a 90% chance they are playing.

Simmons is listed above that status as “Probable” so I seriously doubt he doesn’t start

I think that means we won’t see him doing many designed runs and will be told to avoid contact.

So naturally Charlie will call a designed qb sneak on the first play.

FWIW the line in Vegas has moved from a -9.5 open to down to -6.5 tonight. That's a big swing over 4 days

Honestly, I really don't like our chances this game. Our OL and QB play doesn't give me much confidence.

Honestly, I don't either. I think Arkansas will be able to move the ball on us and I'm not convinced we can outscore them. The biggest thing giving me hope is their D-Line is terrible.

We were 3/13 on 3rd downs last week. Play calling appeared to be the same as last year and all other years Weis has been on staff. Short passes for no or little gain. Runs up the gut or a desperate run around a well protected edge. A long pass or a Hail Mary here or there. This is shaping up to be more of the same this year. But we don’t exactly have a seasoned Corral or Dart to bail us out.

Sorry to be a pessimist. I hope I am wrong and surprised.

Simmons has been taken off the injury report. I like the Rebs to cover -6.5.

Arkansas took a bunch of transfers from smaller schools and have played one of the easiest schedules in the country so far. The only advantage position wise Arkansas has a big advantage over us is the QB. Taylen Green is gonna have to play his best game of his career to beat us. If we take care of the ball and Simmons plays a good game we win.

Don't forget Weis's favorite route - the sideline dig.

Sometimes, it works. Sometimes, it don't.
