Exactly. I gave zero fricks about our uniforms this weekend outside of the guys wearing our colors crossing the goaline.

I’m revising my predictions that we keep Lacy. He’s bought the linemen Ole Miss themed bling and announced he’s going to do a football camp in Oxford. That’s just a weird thing to do if you’re leaving. But so was having a documentary made about how Ole Miss changed you and then leaving 1.5 months later, so who knows.

Damn, you had me, then you lost me.

One thing that a lot of people overlook about Lacy is how well he picks up blocks, especially on blitzes. Our sack numbers definitely would be worse without him. I haven’t re-watched the tape but am pretty sure I saw Diggs completely whiff on the guy who strip-sacked Simmons.

It wasn’t a whiff. Diggs hit the DE. Tulane only rushed 4 and our RT cut their best pass rusher loose. Pretty tough assignment. Simmons held the ball too long as usual. Two Timeouts in your back pocket and 25 seconds left inside the 10 yard line !? Internal clock has to say tuck it and run or throw it out of the back of the endzone and tip your cap to the D for winning the play. Still have two TOs and 22 seconds and 2nd Down and Goal.

Man watching this Gator Bowl makes me so thankful that we bounced back and made the playoff this year. I’m getting residual depression from watching us annihilate Duke knowing we could beat anyone in the playoff.

So true.
It’s interesting how making the playoff changes mindset about Lane leaving imo.
In another universe, we lose another game this year and end up in another meaningless bowl game as Kiffin leaves. Overall mood would be that we just can’t get over the hump here.
Making the CFP seems to ease the transition to the next era at Ole Miss cause we know it can be done here.

It should’ve been done last year, but he was too busy stalking his ex in Dallas all week for the Kentucky game and not playing our best running back in pivotal games we lost
He can blame it on the school and blah blah blah no tradition or heismans or whatever but it’s Kiffin and his direct choices alone that caused us and him, in turn, to fail last season.
It’s why he went for it against Oklahoma early on way in our own territory on 4th down and it let them back in. Luckily we held on. But he knew he was leaving. He wanted us to lose so he could say well it can’t be done here therefore I need to go to a place that it can be done. No way. It was a failed sabotage . I can’t be convinced otherwise. Viewing it all in the rear view that Kiffin knew he was leaving, it makes all his retarded decisions make sense

Completely agree with all points here. Last year was 100% his fault considering the talent we had compared to UK and UF. I’m curious to see if Pete really was the glue guy keeping the pieces together these past couple years

The other thing that could explain that is that Kiffin is just retarded.

Defense must blitz this game. We played way too conservative against them the first time.

Obviously turnovers and the kicking game will be key. They always are in big games. But my biggest stat on Thursday night is drops. We've seen plenty of coverages mixed up and flat out blown this by our secondary this season. We'll need some big breaks in the game to win and I think a couple dropped balls that hit their receivers in the hands are the ticket. Especially some over the middle by their TEs.

I think we have to be aggressive against them and load the box and try to get them in long 3rd downs. They can’t run for 6 yards on first down. I think we have to put our corners in a lot of man coverage and hope they don’t get burned. They showed in the first game the bend and don’t break defense doesn’t work on them.

Cody core is a mt. Rushmore underrated player for me
He got overshadowed but was a stud in his own right.

Adding a Cody. Cody Prewitt was one of my favorites of the Freeze era.
The hit on Jordan Matthews ranks up there.

Marquis Haynes definitely has to be on there somewhere. He’s hardly ever mentioned as one of our greats
