Just copium on my part. This all just feels so weird and all of these “leaks” and player tweets coming out makes me think he’s going to stun everyone on Saturday saying he is staying. The press conference being set up by Ole Miss as the unofficial “decision” is also weird. If it gets to Saturday with no official leaks confirming an agreement is in place for LSU, then he is staying. So the longer this drags out with no official word, the better.

If Carter set up that press conference Saturday to be anything other than him staying, then he will have handled all of this about as bad as you could.

He’ll probably leave LSU in 5 years but I just hope it’s a more enjoyable 5 years than the shite show we’ve been since 2019

Yeah I’m kind of in the same boat. Everything points so easily to “he’s gone” anything actually saying it and makes me think he’s staying.

Pete Nakos article:

quote:

Following a meeting on Friday with Kiffin, Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter released a statement announcing the coach would make his decision on Saturday, the day after the Egg Bowl. Sources at Ole Miss have said clarity on Kiffin’s future could come on Wednesday or Thursday, but nothing is expected to be formally announced until Saturday.

quote:

Florida and LSU have done work in earnest to be ready if they are left without Kiffin, sources tell On3. At Florida, options include Washington’s Jedd Fisch, Louisville’s Jeff Brohm, Vanderbilt’s Clark Lea and Tulane’s Jon Sumrall. Missouri’s Eli Drinkwitz has become a popular name in the LSU search, too.

Is there a formal press conference set up for Saturday? Or is it just that OM plans to release a statement?

I would pay to see the uprising if they hire Drink. The CC board would be glorious

Pete Nakos has somehow become THE guy to listen to this cycle of coaching changes but he never breaks news and never says anything of substance.

If we lose Lane, I want Lane to Florida just so I can see Drink to LSU. The melt would be nuclear.

Kiffin will either win big at LSU and then leave for the Bama job or will be a train wreck that gets fired in 4 years. He’s gonna do some dumb shite that will cost LSU games and that fanbase is gonna have a love hate relationship with him.

If available, can someone please post a link to the press conference. I would like to watch it and can't find it.

He will never be Alabama’s coach. He will either leave for the NFL, be wildly successful or be fired in under 4 years

Carter's statement says an announcement as to Kiffin's future is "expected" after the Egg Bowl.

I think y'all are goosing yourselves up for a looooooong ride.

That is how I read every On3 article. The only point of those premium memberships is to listen to the 3-5 inside guys who can say what’s really going on unfiltered.

We are so incredibly fricked, my dude.

This, I am 100% sure of. I would bet everything if I could actually bet on it.

Is Ole Miss fricked? Odds 10:1

Alabama absolutely will not even entertain the idea of hiring Kiffin.

I trust the Ole Miss football machine at this point, but man, we have to replace Lane with someone competent. It won’t take long to frick it all up with a bad hire.
