These monstrous contracts always workout. Always.

He’s not staying. If he does, he won’t have half the support that he does before October of this year. He’s done nothing but act like he’s going to leave the entire time. The only thing stopping him is that we keep winning and he, selfishly, wants it on his resume.

I’m not asking him to love Ole Miss, but I do think he’s lost the fanbase with just acting like a smarmy dick. There isnt much to come back to, in my eyes.

ETA: and to pay the man top money and give him $100 mil guaranteed is asinine when you don’t know if he won’t bolt 1 year into the deal.

They can't even pay half that shite to their last coach but they're going to double it for, Lane? Wtf...they got a co-signer for that hellcat?

We’d support a coaching staff with Nutt, Luke, Freeze, Tuberville, and Orgeron if it plays out that Kiffin decides to stay says frick you to LSU and makes a run in the playoffs. This is the most short sighted sport in America. Y’all will be naming your first born Lane if he wins a natty.

I certainly hate what college football has become with these contracts, but unfortunately as it stands that’s the price tag for a proven winner right now.

LSU won two natties with baboons leading the program so I’m not worried about him not panning out.

Only interesting thing to monitor today is the Florida fan base. They’re about to look insanely fricking dumb or this is the annexation of Puerto Rico for coaching searches. LSU insiders have been laughing at them and Ole Miss doesn’t seem to think Florida is really in it either

Yup. We're 10-1, 5th in the nation. 1 touchdown from being undefeated but it's not enough. Not enough to have a fan base break their necks to give you whatever tf you want. Nope. Dude wants a red hot boiler room. They think they're going to the NC in 2 years with him. If that doesn't happen??? Lol. Boys, pour me another, we lightin' the grill.

They were wearing merch for a coach who coaches the other team at an SEC road game. That’s probably the cuckiest shite I’ve ever seen at an SEC match up.

By no means is Florida out of this sweepstakes. Lane is not leaving unless we get bounced from playoffs. But if he did leave Florida makes more sense to me than LSU. Or maybe I’m just biased because I hate the thought of Lane at LSU. Lol.

This is where I disagree, he may not be screaming Hotty Toddy from the rooftops, but it’s been far from the above. He’s said he won’t discuss it with the media until after the season and so far that’s exactly what he’s done.

No offense, but that was repeated a million times when BL was announced too

Florida fans have been unhinged this entire coaching search and I say that as an LSU fan. LSU has always been optimistic about the odds but very far from penciling it in.

FWIW the legitimate LSU guys on On3 are expecting Lane to make it official tomorrow. If this is the case I seriously can’t wrap my head around Lane coaching the Egg Bowl, tension would be outrageous around the program

The problem is that people didn’t expect Kelly to just sign the contract and run straight to the golf course all day. Multiple affairs, golfing all day, insanely idiotic management decisions…all Kelly had to do was give the effort he did at Cincinnati and early days at Notre Dame.

Orgeron cared a lot more, he was just in over his head. Kelly isn’t an idiot but you have to put in the work at any school.

Point being, you never know how a new coach is going to do. You can hire a coordinator, hire a G5 HC, hire a power 4 HC, it's all a crapshoot.

If Lane makes it official he has to be out. If LSU leaks it, things could get complicated quick - I'm done trying to guess how Lane would react to a situation like that.

Replace golf for fishing and trolling Twitter and maybe the affairs are with a younger demographic and you have ....

I don't even care. I give up. If dude burst into flames while signing a contract, I'd go clean my garage for the 6th time this season.

You truly are an apologist. There are many other coaches that are being looked at for jobs this year. Only Lane has attracted this circus.

His children are sending smoke signals in their instagram posts and TikTok’s. He has consistently lambasted our fanbase about attendance when we are consistently over capacity. And from all accounts, the money and commitment are equal. National media folks are wondering what the frick he’s doing.

Cignetti didn’t do this. Dan Lanning doesn’t do this. Deboer is doing this, but it’s because there may legitimately be fit issues between him and Bama. We don’t have that. This guy is the same guy that got fired on the tarmac and got fired ahead of a natty due to his distractions. Don’t allow the propaganda from his representation to fool you into thinking otherwise.

There is no reason for us to give him a long term deal with the protection we’ve given him in our buyouts ($36 mil) vs. his ($3-4 mil). We even structured our contracts with the guy knowing he’s going to leave. What we never imagined is that he’d be enough of a piece of shite to leave during the playoffs.
