Yeah, everyone's numbers are leaked now. This is strange. Usually the numbers are only leaked when a hire is imminent. Two schools are getting burned here.

So I put $5 to win $800 on Ole Miss missing the playoffs right before the Florida game. I just had a really bad gut feeling about that game with all of the distractions that I figured I could at least feel better with a fatter wallet.
After we beat Florida, they offered me like $1.50 to cash out the bet. It’s currently an even cash out of $5.
At this point I kinda hope we do lose.

This is why I wasn’t quick to bash Keith for that word salad statement. If we have truly matched LSU/Florida money, then the only thing left to play for is leverage and PR, not dollars. Letting Lane coach the Egg Bowl keeps the focus on the team now and lets the media spend the weekend hammering him for refusing to commit to a 10–1 squad that the school has gone all in to support. By next Saturday, it’s very possible Lane’s image takes the hit and we, not Lane, is the side holding the cards.

I don’t see anything wrong with what Saban said. But it isn’t anywhere near the gap that LSU fans think. He may truly be undecided, but people can only be so patient before they make the decision for you. Keith and the boosters involved are absolutely looking at this under the scope of do we also wanna go through this again in a few years or maybe even next.

I thought the gameday crew made some excellent points. Personally I’m not sure what I would do, genuinely much more pressure at LSU. I’m interested to hear what Saban said to Lane behind the scenes because he apparently lobbied hard for Lane to take the job.

Well yeah, LSU is paying him $1mil consulting fee to help them find their next coach. Saban is going to say the LSU is the best job in the country at the moment
