I keep hearing people say this. What, exactly, are his background issues? I mean... didn't stop Memphis, so why on earth would it stop Ole Miss?
That being said, why would, at this point, Norvell make what would only be a lateral move to an inferior program, albeit one in a Power 5 conference?

Luke Fickell Cincy - He's got Cincy humming. I'd figure he could parlay that into a better job than Ole Miss. Especially if they could somehow get the nod from the Big X11 in a realignment scenario. Either way, he's not worth a 4 million dollar flyer

Jim Leavitt FSU - You're kidding, right?
Dino Babers Syracuse - He'll never coach in the SEC
Matt Ruhle Baylor (oops too late) - Baylor is a better job than Ole Miss
Josh Heuppel UCF - I'd listen, but it's too early to tell if he can actually coach or was a beneficiary of inheriting Frost's program
Mike Norvell Memphis - He'll get a better job and would ultimately choose Fayetteville over Oxford if it came down to it.
Seth Littrell North Texas - Give him a call. It'd be a Freeze-like hire.
Matt Cambbell Iowa State - The only place he leaves Ames for is a Michigan/USC type of job
Bill Clark UAB - This is probably who we'll hire. 3 million and let's see what happens
Butch Davis FIU - This isn't 2001 and everything he did at UNC was vacated. FIU looked promising but they're tanking heavily. He's almost 70 years old
Lane Kiffen FAU - This hire would get me back on board
Sonny Dykes SMU - His name will start to heat up if he can keep it rolling at SMU. We saw what he did at Cal. I wouldn't be outraged if he got the job
And none of these guys are worth remotely close to 5 million a year with the exception of maybe Campbell, who wouldn't even pick up the phone after noticing a 662 area code. If Norvell wins 11-12 games this year, throw it at him too

Honestly, I wouldn’t watch a single game if Briles is the coach. There’s a lot that can be overlooked, but not that.

He went to Liberty and coached from a hospital bed then a dentist chair. He'd come to Memphis and borrow the Boogermobile from ESPN and coach from that.

You know what we don’t deserve a good coach if our fan base is this dumb. Nobody is hiring Briles, Freeze, or Norvell except trash programs. There are non-football reasons why those guys are where they are and it has nothing to do with coaching ability. If some of you guys weren’t so consistently stupid and unfunny I would appreciate the troll.

No because I’m not getting doxxed again over this board like me and some other posters did over the Oxford hooker scandal. Use your context clues about why every major program with an opening passed on him and it’s not gambling because Hologersen has been gambling for twenty years and is still getting paid.
