Where are you getting Freeze was in a worse position? All of his major contributors to those first two years were all Nutt 2010/2011 guys. Only two players were in such dire positions academically that they wouldn’t have been eligible and they were both from usp. Luke inherited a talented lineup just like Freeze with the added fun of not being able to hire his own coordinators. That doesn’t excuse his crappiness but stop pretending Freeze was great.

Clarion Ledger Article

Let's examine the article:

quote:

2012 Freeze has inherited a mess of a roster, one that won all of two games in 2011 and has massive academic issues that threaten to leave around 25 of his players ineligible for the season.

Yes luke inherited much better offensive players and no question wasted them. Freeze inherited better defensive players by a wide margin and he wasted them.

Hold on...what? So, we need to take the first 4 years (to include freshmen-senior of what he inherited) to examine that statement. Let's do this....

Defensive Rankings (with team record)
2011: 72 (prior to Freeze) 2-10
2012: 54 7-6
2013: 45 8-5
2014: 12 9-4
2015: 53 10-3

Sorry, but your argument over him "wasting" defensive talent just doesn't seem to hold up.

2011's team had a #72 ranked defense?!

Hypothetical:

Would 2018's top 10 offense be able to score on 2011's defense?

The only team above #72 that they scored more than 20 points on was Texas A&M at 24.

Right and out of those there were two that were as bad as reported nick Parker and snoop. One failed and the other didn’t. The rest had simply stopped going to class. So while I always credit Freeze with how he motivated guys who had been given up on by Nutt and getting them to care again it wasn’t a Herculean a task as presented by ole miss media.

Well he wasted them if you’re holding him to the same standard as Luke which I am. He failed to capitalize and win the west. Luke is unquestionably worse as a head coach than freeze but there’s no reason to lose to those mediocre schools with our defensive talent like Hugh did just like it’s inexcusable to lose to those mediocre schools with bad defenses this year.

That's a good question. That 2011 defense team's stats:
Passing Yards: 194.4
Rushing Yards: 224.9
Total YDS: 419
PPG: 32.1

Looking at A&M's defensive stats this year:
Passing Yards: 262.7
Rushing Yards: 92
Total YDS: 355
PPG: 26.3

Based on just looking at the stats (which don't always play out), and playing around with numbers, this year's offense would be projected to put up 29 (29.2261...) points against that 2011 defense.

Until this year 2010 was our worst defense statistically. Teams got tired of scoring on us in 2011 I guess

Dude, you really should stop - you're trolling at this point and its just sad.

FACTS:
1. Inherited defense improved under Freeze (gave up less points).
2. Inherited offense regressed under Luke (scored less points).

I'm not sure what your deal is with this - maybe you're unable to admit you're wrong or you have some sort of other motive, but you're really coming across as a dumbass. Facts do not back up anything you've tried to argue.

Post stats to backup your claims man. I'm tired of having to do the research to constantly prove you wrong.

Regressed from what? I told you my standard and reasoning. If you’re going by stats Luke improved total offense both seasons he was HC but have you ever heard me say he improved it? Scoring offense was almost flat year to year. If scoring offense matters Hugh went 5-7 with that same offense. Are you suggesting the 2016 offense was good? Have I ever suggested that Luke improved any facet of our team? My argument has been consistent from the beginning. Luke inheriting a mess which he couldn’t pull himself out of mostly because of Hugh Freeze and Bjork’s making. Yours is what exactly?

Hugh Freeze finished no higher than second in the west with the best talent we’ve ever assembled. Facts

I think he’s frustrated and wants to do something about it but in his position just like us we end up arguing with some dude on the internet while the real decision makers flounder around like retards humping doorknobs

Never done. Can't wait to see the DC hire. Maybe MATTY can save this program.

Moncrief was a 3rd round selection (90th selection overall). Brassell and CJ, of course, weren't drafted. So the answer was that Freeze didn't inherit any 1st round NFL talent. :)

You could also make the argument that Freeze just didn't develop that talent accordingly. :)

Considering that Freeze had players that he recruited and coached were drafted in the 1st round, I'd say reality proves you wrong once again. But what's new....

The players Freeze inherited had just lost to Jacksonville State.

Not sure what your point is but OM played Jacksonville St in 2010. Freeze took over 2012.

Reality doesn't prove anything. It was obviously a joke that went over your head. Hence the smiley face.
