Any reason McGriff hasn’t been fired yet?

He should have been fired halfway through the second game this year. He couldn’t coach a fricking Pee Wee league. An absolute ditchdigger if I’ve ever seen one. Seriously, how hasn’t this clown been canned yet?

Neal and Chase think that if decisions were made today he would be our DC next year and Werner would be our OC. FWTW

Came to post this. Though Werner is likely an upgrade at OC despite being a retread, if I recall correctly, he needed Farrar to recruit for him since he was unable to do so for personal reasons. Is that an issue still? Because we need recruiters more than average X-and-O coaches.

Speaking of recruiting, guess what McGriff has been actively neglecting while trying to better his coaching skills (which is going swimmingly)? Recruiting. The only reason anyone was even remotely interested in his hire was due to his reputation of being able to land kids.

Matt Luke hasn't made it to the Accountability chapter in the Head Coaching For Dummies audio book yet if I had to guess.

We will have the exact same staff we had under Freeze if that's the case. Why would any of the freeze haters want this?

Why don’t we bring Corey Batoon back while we’re at it?

We have no top defensive talent from MS committed. That tells me all I need to know about how great of a job Luke and McGriff are doing recruiting defensive players.

Is anything about our defense redeemable? We need everyone gone fresh start. Please god I can’t take anymore of this.

The defense has gotten better honestly. I know most dont wanna hear that and its extremely hard to see but it has. Hibbler was a freaking TE and he's been serviceable. Sanogo has gotten better. Secondary is holding up even though we've lost so many players there and got two RBs playing. The last two games the defense has placed the offense in a position to win the game and we've failed.

I'd personally like a Co defensive coordinator to be named so Mcgriff could place more time on recruiting.

If he was recruiting will and had say Dean committed no one would be asking for his head. Most would be saying he just needs more talent.

Why Luke would go get Werner is beyond me. Its essentially tying himself to the Freeze staff even more. Why do that?

As McCready pointed out to Russell Johnson on a podcast where Russell suggested doing just that. It would be an insult to McGriff's ego and he'd view it as a demotion. Granted, McGriff should be thankful that he still had a job after fielding the worst defense in power five college football two years in a row (his fault or not).

This is actually the truth of the situation. It seems as though the tackling has gotten better, the players are in position and players are flying to the ball. Now we need more depth and better players.

The issue has been the offense has been shut down in the 2nd half of games once the opposition make adjustments in the locker room.

Also curious why McGriff has the title of Associate Head Coach / Defensive Coordinator...

He doesnt deserve the defensive coordinator title much less the Associate Head Coach title.

Well Matt Luke doesn’t deserve the title of Head Coach so think it’s just a trend within our football department.

I’ve got a bad feeling we see the same staff one more year at least. We still have no one higher up with balls to fire the good ol boys. Until there is change in every aspect of the AD department, we will be run by the same old group of “boosters”

Luke will get next year but I still think they fire Mcgriff. Longo sticks around for more in between the twenties fun

I may become HJJ level pissed if we keep Longo and this middle school offense.

I think most fans that post on here will be HJJ if we keep anyone on staff.
