Harper to LSU is official. No surprise there.

Harper transferring to LSU makes a lot of sense. Best of luck to him.

I hope he gets it.

I would think any coach with a chance to jump to the league right now would do so to get away from the toxic NIL/transfer portal environment.

Yeah IIRC he wanted to go there out of high school but they decided late to not offer him a scholarship so we got him.

I'm fine with him leaving as long as he buys out his deal, assuming he signed one. That's money we planned on going to him that maybe could have been used for a different tackle or another position. Same with Princewill. Maybe we could have been in on Damon Wilson or those twins, but we thought we had him as our starting defensive end and that money was tied up.

I'm not all that upset about Harper or Dottery, but Princewill is a different story. Harper would have been a good player for us but if he didn't leave this year when he "maybe" starts, he definitely was leaving next year. Our linebacker play was so atrocious last year I just can't get too worked up about any of those interior lbs leaving.

Probably that FCS RB who's on campus. He's super fast - would be a change of pace back

So has princewill actually committed to lsu. Did it just end up being for money? If so, why the hell are they outbidding us for one of our own who would stay if the $ was equal

We decided he wasn't worth a million dollars and LSU decided he was? I mean it's a loss don't get me wrong, but that's steep for a pass rush specialist. Needs to improve his run defense

They’re also apparently willing to pay the buyout he has for breaking the contract he signed with us last week ($300,000).

Well I can't fault him for being pissed we're paying him $300K and a defensive end he is rated higher than in the portal is looking at $2M. Anyone know what Harper's was?

We were paying him more than 300k. That’s just what he (LSU) owes our collective if he wants to leave now.

Wee were paying him more than $300. That was just the rev share portion, which LSU owes us as a buyout. I think his total (Rev + NIL) was like 750

$300k is just his rev share portion owed for the buyout. His contract is much higher, but LSU is only on the hook for the rev share portion so the rest of the contract details are not public. Overpaying to get him but lane thinks it is worth it. They are going all in on next year so good luck to them.

I think we’ve got at least a couple of unaccounted-for shark tweets.

On3 and 247 have both said a number of commits happened today and the staff hasn't had the time to send the tweets so I wouldn't even try to guess at the count.

Also, Tennessee LB Arion Carter withdrawing from the draft and entering the portal is one to watch. Was projected as a Day 2 draft pick (2nd or 3rd round). Would be a massive upgrade over Dottery.

Also a DE from Baylor just de-committed from VT. He's basically a clone of Prince so also one worth watching
