Bianco will address the Hunter Elliot arm situation after the game tonight. But they're saying they've done an MRI and nothing jumped out at them.

Kendall Rogers is hinting that someone is about to have news of a serious injury. He's not naming names of the team or player though.

I'm concerned as of now.

None of the OM sites sound very optimistic.

Did this info come from Bianco post game or are we still speculating?

The only info from Bianco is that Elliot will not pitch this weekend due to forearm tightness. Still waiting on MRI results.

My concern is how often do we see a pitcher pitch again in a season when he has forearm tightness? It seems like almost every case I've seen results in the pitcher being shutdown for surgery.

Sounds very similar to the complaints Hoglund was having before having Tommy John

I don't know anything about Maryland other than they've been a program on the rise lately.

Does anyone know anything about their players?

They have a really good SS by the name of Matt Shaw. I saw him on some mlb mock drafts in the first round.

Just looked up Matt Shaw. He crushed 22 dingers and was the Cape Cod League player last year. Is that good?

They appear to rely on the dinger like we do too. They hit 137 in 2022 and we hit 108.

They don't appear to run much and I am glad to see we are running a lot more this season compared to last.

Their team WHIP is 1.54 and ours is 1.24. But our ace won't throw this weekend and they've played a harder schedule.

We've struck out 17 more batters in 21 less AB, so that's good.

They've given up 6+ runs in 3/4 games and at least 8 hits in every game. I'm hoping our bats are en fuego this weekend. They've also made 3 errors and we haven't committed one yet (knock on wood).

Maryland is a good team. We will not be eased into the no Hunter era.

Yep.

He reminds me a lot of a younger DownSouthJukin. 6'3, 290 lbs of pure muscle, quick hands, and an explosive first step.

We lost Will Ethridge for a while in 2019 due to a first-game injury and ended up doing aight.

Granted, we had the greatest Rebel pitcher of all-time and a first round pick waiting in the wings. But still, we survived.
