Can't remember him doing anything of note so far. He hasn't looked good tonight either.

Pitching has looked solid tonight though.

One hit in nine games. So at a minimum that’s like 1-30 if you allow for a walk or two, maybe a sac and maybe more than 4 ABs per game.

It's impossible for Chat to get ahead in the count or work an AB. He simply can't help himself swinging at bad pitches.

His K to BB ratio is 159:68 in 614 AB for his career. That is unacceptable for a guy who doesn't hit the ball well.

He is hitting .157 (9/57) over the past 15 games. He has walked four times and struck out twelve times over that span.

I know it sounds like I'm piling on, but I've been over Chat since 2021. He absolutely has to become more patient at the plate. He is a liability if he does not.

He's an excellent second baseman and he better be glad he is. In his defense, he doesn't seem to allow his offensive deficiencies to hijack his defensive play.

He is a plus defender at second base. He makes challenging plays look routine.

Setting that aside, I believe we are losing primarily because of our pitching and secondarily because of our impatience at the plate.

Everyone goes through slumps, but Chat has hit a slump once conference play began for three seasons in a row. I don't think it's a slump, I just don't think he's that good of a hitter.

Wasn’t there talk Elliot would be back around this time? If he isn’t back next weekend, we can just shut it down

if we get swept this weekend, he shouldn't come back and risk a further injury at all. Just let the younger arms come in and get more experience.

Let him have the possibility of having a medical redshirt on the off chance he has more injuries and needs another year of eligibility.

Bianco is a fricking idiot. Great job leaving a pitcher in about 5 batters too long. He’s lucky we barely snuck in the tournament last year or else he would be getting fired this year.

He has always been good at overcooking pitchers.

I quit watching after that Grand Slam. I won't bother watching the second game. I'll check sometime this weekend to see if we managed to win one.

It's disgraceful that Bianco has a pitching group this piss poor. Yeah, there are some injuries, but that's why you have depth.

Counted the roster, minus the injuries … we have 17-18 pitchers in the roster.. not one of these guys can do much of anything???

You’re dead weight If you can’t get on the field with this team

We lost 11-2 Hamzoo

Leaving in a pitcher 4 or 5 batters too long in Game 1 of a 3 game series isn’t the issue. We lost all of our team leaders. Whether it’s Bench, Elko , Graham and Dunhurst on the field or Van Cleeve , Diamond and Cioffi in the dugout there is a void that has not been filled. This team was not ready to be the hunted and when you win a Natty you are the hunted and everybody gives you their best shot. It started with that midweek Jacksonville State loss and that game set the table for what we’re seeing now. MSU dealt with this same shite last year after they lost Hodges , Bednar , Sims and Tanner Allen. We’ll probably finish last in the West if we don’t take 2/3 next weekend in Starkville. I have an entirely new respect for those LSU, South Carolina and Oregon State teams that competed and even won back to back Titles. It’s just so difficult. Especially in baseball. Just support the team and hopefully we can take 2/3 from some teams in May.

It was 3-0 and clear that Dougherty was done. Bianco left him in for about 6 more batters and that ended the game. That shite has to stop by bianco. Bianco lost us the first game.

I’m buzzed so pardon the rant, but dude, this is just one long excuse.

We have an extremely talented roster. Gonzales is a first rounder, Harris is playing like it, Alderman and McCants will be draft picks too. Bianco has been mismanaging talent for DECADES.

Our in-state rival recently made Omaha 3 years in a row and won it all at the end of that three season span. fricking Auburn made it to Omaha 2/4 seasons. I can keep going on. Louisville, whose beisbol budget is dwarfed by ours, is a perennial Omaha team (5 since 2007, including back to back seasons). Same thing is true for Texas Tech, who made it to Omaha 3/4 years recently!

I am so sick and tired of the excuses. We have been making them for twenty years now.

We were left on the side of the road dead last season until we got hot. While 2022 was fun, how much more of this shite are we going to put up with? 2016, 2018, 2019 were all Omaha teams. All we have to show from them is a cool SEC Tournament Trophy and embarrassing losses to eliminate us from OUR own regional and then an absolute arse beating by Arkansas on national TV.

Arkansas, LSU, State, A&M, and Auburn don’t seem to have problems making it to Omaha. But somehow we keep putting up with the shite.

This loser arse attitude is what has held us back for so long. We have had multiple teams in with the talent to at least make Omaha, yet we have only done it twice, and one time simply because we got as red hot as any team in history. So I ask, when will it be enough? Will it be a few more seasons of watching LSU, State, and Arkansas enjoy Omaha while we sit around with our thumbs up our asses? It seems like we are content letting this happen for 2 more decades.

Keep sitting around and hoping that shite happens again. It won’t. What will happen is Bianco buying himself another 10 seasons simply because we got hot. I hope it’s worth it, because, despite all our advantages, we can enjoy watching our despised rivals in Omaha in June while we sit home . . . again . . . for the 20th time since 2000.

Agree on the entire post. Pleasantly surprised by Game 2 tonight. Can’t wait to see what frickery Bianco conjures up to lose is the series.
