Behind us. And while that is alarming and saddening to Christians, it's also not unexpected. The Bible says all of these things that are happening would happen. Men are lovers of themselves. Truth and true religious doctrine are perverted and twisted to the point that many "religions" (or cults) don't have even a passing resemblance to the word of God and the principles and precepts of his law. People who are constantly struggling to justify their own sin and fallen natures will ALWAYS bare teeth on Christ and attempt to demonize, mock, scorn, and persecute his law and people. Jesus is love, but he is also absolute in definition of right and wrong. People in this country have kicked out right and wrong from our political structure, and are wallowing in every perversion man can imagine... and the longer we do it, the easier it is to go further and further. This is the "progress" Satan is putting in the minds of so many today. That's NOT progress... it's abomination! But people are so desperate to "dis-prove" the truth, that they believe a bald-face lie. And America will suffer a cruel death because of it. When it all is over, though, God and his law will still be standing unscathed, and every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. The sad part is that it'll be too late then. People say that this country doesn't need "religion".... I agree.... This country needs GOD.

Why don't you go to the Czech Republic... the most atheist country on the planet... and tell me what rights they have that we don't have here. To act as if Americans were living with "no rights" up until "millennials" came around is completely ignorant.
I did enjoy my couple of visits to the Czech Republic. Brought home some fine firearms. Was impressed with a lot of things about the country. One odd thing we noticed were the number of American and Western European LBGT ex-pats living there - it caught us off guard at first, like they are taking over the country or something. Was told there is also a thriving porn industry there and I can see why ... because there are some seriously beautiful women living in that country.
Their Constitution was written in 1992 I believe I remember being told - and is very similar to ours. It's actually a pretty neat place to be right now. Beautiful country.
But there is no comparing what is happening in the Czech Republic right now to what is happening in the U.S. right now.
Need I elaborate as to why there are inherent, incomparable, major differences?

I dunno, the Chinese?
Mother Nature? ... at least according to one of the most well-known atheists of all time. What was that guy's name a gain ... oh yeah. Darwin something ... talked about the whole survival of the fittest thing and all that.
Is this a trick question BTW? Because, eventually ... under Obamacare, the government will decide who lives and dies and, by proxy of their various government regulations they will decide who is allowed to bring children into this world and who is not allowed to do so.

If there is one major world problem on the horizon that deals with population, its that we're not replacing the population fast enough in much of Asia and Europe. Japan is set for a horrific next 60 years unless they see a major surge in their birth rate. The same goes for Taiwan and South Korea.
There is a reason for that. Care to take a gander and a guess at exactly what it is?
Matter of fact, there is a similar issue occurring right now in the United States among one segment of our population ... for basically the same reason.

I enjoy Prague as well. I wasn't saying that to put down the Czechs or their country... or atheists for that matter. My point is that all these bigoted, militant anti-religious types who think the world can only progress if Christianity is dealt its final blow don't realize that we've had it very good in this country. There is essentially not a single "right" someone has today in Prague that we don't have here..... and we have (at least until recently) far more opportunity in this country than they have had there.

I could not agree more.
It goes back to what I was trying to convey above about the revisionist history that is being taught these days. I try to find one example, when I am having conversations with the kids these days, where Christianity is given any credit in the history books for being good, for spreading good, for the charitable contributions ... there are none.
But they can tell you all about all the bad things they are able to attribute, (flimsily I might add), to Christianity while, at the same time, extolling the virtues of Islam in ancient times and reminding everyone that Islam is a religion of peace.
And no, I knew you were not saying that to put-down the Czechs ... to the contrary. I agree with you, it's a very unique country not only in Europe, but the world.
I've been there a few times over the course of the last four decades ... my first time there they were still Czechoslovakia, before the split. I do believe those years under Soviet Marxist–Leninist communist domination, particularly the post-Prague Spring government, played a major part in the indifference towards religion most Czechs exhibit today ... especially Millennial Czechs.
One of my wife's sisters and her husband lives in Prague and I've told my wife I would not have a problem with us selling our condo in Honolulu and buying a place just outside of Prague instead ... or rather up around Karlovy Vary if I had my druthers. Man I love that city.

Agree. What is amazing and can't be disputed is that as the gospel spreads across the world, blessing follows. Partly I believe because God blesses his children, but also because the basic principles of Christianity naturally lead to a healthier, more prosperous society.
Christianity spread like wildfire across Europe following the Protestant Reformation, and it literally ushered in the Renaissance. People all across Europe were living better, more prosperous lives than ever before. Europe emerged from the Dark Ages as Christianity spread. But due partly to religious persecution, Christianity for the most part left for America beginning in the 1700s and 1800s.
It wasn't long before Europe began to lose its way, morally speaking, and that is partly what led to the chaos of Germany in the 1930s. Berlin was the wildest city on Earth in that day. One wonders how a country could allow a madman like Hitler to take power, but it wasn't until the German people had lost their moral compass before such a thing could take place. Moral relativism had taken hold, and there was very little knowledge of right from wrong. This allowed someone like Hitler... who burned Bibles... to take power.
At the same time, as Christianity spread to America, America became the most prosperous large nation the world had ever seen. It was literally a nation founded by Christians who wanted to create a free society for people to worship God as they pleased.
As one earlier poster said, America is now losing its religion with the millennial generation. They meant this as a positive, but its hard not to see the correlation of our prosperity declining at the same time. Just like Europe a few generations ago, America is in decline. I wonder why?
While most will never admit nor agree that the rise of China has anything to do with Christianity... its impossible to argue that China has seen probably the biggest jump in power and prosperity of any major country over the past few decades.... and at the exact same time Christianity is exploding in China. Again, we see this amazing correlation that seems to repeat itself in every part of the world.
Some project that China will have more Christians than America as early as 2030. Some have estimated that there are around 2,500 conversions to Christianity in China every single day. And once again.... as has been the case for 2,000 years... as Christianity spreads around the globe, so follows blessing.

Do it! My wife and I have a goal that when our last kid leaves for college, we want to move to Europe for a year. I don't want to stay there forever, but to live there for the first year of retirement would be ideal.

The rights that you enjoy have blinded you to the guarantees that the Constitution extends to all citizens. The South, especially, has been a near theocracy since the Civil War, relying on religion as the basis for suppression of minorities from women to African Americans to gays.

You're one to bring up "drinking the Kool Aid." You're so enamored of your technological toys that you don't see, and don't care about, the destruction of our environment.
Sure, technology has lengthened the lives of people and eased the suffering of many but the technology coin has another side, one that is consuming the finite resources of this planet. You don't see it and don't want to; as long as it's fun for you it must be a good thing.

You're the type that likes to fling buzzwords around. Damn right I'm for "population control."
There isn't a single human problem that can't be abated or alleviated by reducing the earth's population. There are no downsides to reducing the population.
You're so stuck in the "growth is good" mindset that you can't see, and don't want to understand that human growth is unregulated and, like a deadly virus in its host, will burn itself out unless an intervention is made, taking its host with it.

The one thing you've said that makes any sense.... yet you want to make America more like Europe I presume.
Oh, I pushed your "God bless America!" button here?
Make America more like Europe? You really are out of tune with the world. Europe, and every other nation on earth is becoming more like America. You should travel more.
quote:
If America is so great, why do you want to change it?
America is great because it changes when necessary. Sorry that change terrifies you but that's been happening throughout our history, each time getting better.

Christianity is dealt its final blow
Fun fact: Christianity is spreading faster today than at any other time in history. The US is one of only a few areas where it is digressing. So many people around the world are hungry for the truth, and have not been so disillusioned by media propaganda and cushy, prideful, out-of-touch of reality lives that they can't recognize it when presented.

You know, all threads like these really reveal is which posters are optimists and which are pessimists.
Depending on which you are, you can always cherry pick and find shite in the past to bolster the trend you favor

Actually, I think pessimists cherry pick the past while optimists cherry pick the future.
