Yellow british lab named caddis. Might be the best dog I've ever owned.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Leo. Sweetest dog ever.
Mutt (think he's half schnauzer and half yorkie) named scout. I call him squirt. He's a great dog.
Ragdoll cat named Tika
Grey tabby cat named max.

I have never seen another treeing walker outside of Charleston, S.C. Whenever I brought him to the dog park in Atlanta people were scared of his howl. He's never been aggressive toward a person or dog, but people did not like it there. One woman even started hitting him in the face repeatedly for sniffing her dog's butt.

Got a beagle/German Shepherd mix named Marley. Really good looking dog.

Strangest name was probably our dog growing up...boxer named Boogie.

Ann Landers ran an article about a strangely named dog a long time ago. Here it is for those who have never seen it.

A Dog Named Sex

By Morty Storm

Everybody who has a dog calls him "Rover" or "Boy." I call mine "Sex." He's a great pal, but he has caused me a great deal of embarrassment.

When I went to city hall to renew his dog license, I told the clerk I would like a license for Sex. He said, "I'd like one too!"

Then, I said, "But this is a dog." He said he didn't care what she looked like. Then, I said, "You don't understand, I've had Sex since I was 9 years old." He winked and said, "You must have been quite a kid."

When I got married and went on my honeymoon, I took the dog with me. I told the motel clerk that I wanted a room for my wife and me and a special room for Sex.

He said, "You don't need a special room. As long as you pay your bill, we don't care what you do." I said, "Look, you don't seem to understand. Sex keeps me awake at night." The clerk said, "Funny -- I have the same problem."

One day, I entered Sex in a contest, but before the competition began, the dog ran away. Another contestant asked me why I was just standing there, looking disappointed. I told him I had planned to have Sex in the contest. He told me I should have sold my own tickets. "But you don't understand," I said, "I had hoped to have Sex on TV." He said, "Now that cable is all over the place, it's no big deal anymore."

When my wife and I separated, we went to court to fight for custody of the dog. I said, "Your honor, I had Sex before I was married." The judge said, "The courtroom isn't a confessional. Stick to the case, please."

Then, I told him that after I was married, Sex left me. He said, "Me too."

Last night, Sex ran off again. I spent hours looking all over town for him. A cop came over to me and asked, "What are you doing in this alley at 4 o'clock in the morning?" I told him that I was looking for Sex. My case comes up Friday.

A Chow named Simba and he truly looks like a lion.

When I was a kid I had a Chow Chow and people freaked the hell out. And yes, they called her a lion too.

She was a gorgeous animal and super protective of our land but never aggressive to humans -- just scared them to death. Her best friends were two bulldogs that lived nearby and they were pretty damn awesome. Unfortunately Rambo (one of the bulldogs names) was too friendly and was used to getting rides back home. Some jerk stole him. Broke my heart too because I spent so much time playing with him, the other bulldog and my chow chow. :`(

I'm more of a cat person now as I don't have the room I want for a dog (I want them to be able to run and not live a life on a chain or in a pin). Also, when I was in college my indoor kitties stole my heart but I love animals in general both cats and dogs.

Question for everyone: Do y'all tend to stick with the same breeds or similar breeds?

I ask because I've had a black lab, chow chow, Dalmatian (ironically the most trying to keep), and wolves (well, I had one and others kept the rest of the pack) in need of rescue/land to roam (lots of acres in a super-rural area help tho surprisingly they never really roamed that much. I guess because they were well fed.). I've bonded with many other breeds as well due to relatives and neighbors and they're all really unique.

Last dog was a German Shepherd mix named Sarah. She got me through some rough times, never realized I was turning into a horrible drunk, never cared that I moved around a lot, jumped from job to job. She died about 4 1/2 years ago before I could get her back to Ak, I couldn't fly her up from the South where we were a few months at the time because of Airline Policy and she passed away before I could get her back again. An amazing, beautiful creature and I'll never totally get over losing her before I could see her again. I see people with their dogs now and wish I could make myself have another, but don't want to go through that again.

I loved my hounds.Miss them..Champion blood lines..that lived for the hunt.Hated a coon and would follow a track till they put it up waiting on the kill. But were never rough with other dogs. When my youngest daughter was three she would go into the kennels with me and play with them, pulling their tails and ears and hugging up on them, yet they acted like big babies. When Meeko was stolen out of his Kennel, the Blood line was lost
