We were a sports powerhouse back in when I went to school there.
Nah, I'm shittin' you folks. Carmel was a top 100 high school in America but we sucked when it came to sports.
Still, I will never forget the memorable half time speech my basketball coach gave to us when we were getting blown out in one of our games.
Coach AJ, in that deep gravelly Midwestern voice of his, looked at us and said. "You all suck." Then left the locker room. We rallied after that rousing speech and managed to only lose by 35 that night instead of 40 or more. One of the great uplifting moments in sports.

Sand Lizards was an interesting one in Arkansas, especially as they were not the southern part of the state. In my youth we had an unofficial name of "The Nads" but Rhode Island apparently made it an official one for their school.
