The only thing I care about at UAB is the medical school. Because without their recent help, I would be 6 feet under. Wouldn't stop me from posting on the Rant

Bama was legitimately afraid of UAB growing into a decent University for athletics because of "all the rich doctor alumni".
And they actually think there's a chance that they'll annex UAB and/or the hospital. That will NEVER happen.

It is all part of the same system, genius. It is a shared endowment among UA, UAB, and UAH. How does one "annex" something that's already a part of the whole?

UAB can secede as soon as the $1+ billion check clears for all the money UA has invested in the UA medical school on their campus.

Let them secede... because then the medical school (the bread and butter of the system) will move BACK to the main campus and Birmingham will once again be left to pick up the broken crockery.

Boy is this pissing match stupid. Yes UA invested heavily in UAB. UAB now brings in more than UA. The investment has more than yielded dividends.
It is not about sports. It is not about UA fearing the athletic program. This is now about piss poor management.

That is a very ignorant statement. Tuscaloosa does not have the hospitals/population to support a medical school. Almost all Universities have medical schools in the largest cities.

I think he meant that UAB med would be absorbed by UA, while still retaining their current location. It would take billions and billions to recreate the current infrastructure.
