Thats the case with the majority of people against it. The media caricature of the fire breathing religious homophobe is just not that prevalent in 2013.

The funny thing is that the group most often picked on by the mass media, and the last group for which such actions are excusable culturally, are white conservative christians. And that is the group being constantly labeled as bigoted. Its the inherent irony of modern American culture.

True. I'm not going to launch into a full on "conservatives are under attack" rant, but I really don't think there is any denying that there is a double standard.

And yet Natalee Holloway was still in the news years after she went missing, whereas if she had been Black or Latino she'd have been lucky to get a week's worth of coverage.

Seriously, look how long her Wikipedia article is. Hard to imagine a kidnapped minority getting a Wikipedia page at all.

The reality is that we all, as humans, are wired to stereotype and judge. Its a biological urge rooted in survival. Know who to trust, who to fear, who to let into your home, etc.

The problem is we apply that in unnatural ways, and some do it under the guise of progressivism and tolerance.

More people need to take themselves out. And I'm pretty neutral on the issue- let the states decide. As a whole it's an irrelevant issue considering everything else going on but it's great for the left. Republicans love making asses out of themselves and it distracts from things that matter, ie. our government spending us into financial hell.

Hold the phone. frick that. THE ONLY way I would ever condone an abortion was if the woman was raped, or her life was in danger. Other than that, someone who wants to have an abortion should die too, imo. They're the ones who opened their legs and took the risks. If they don't want it, adoption is always an option.

Depends on what you mean by rights. If you mean does the gov belong in their bed room, no. If you mean the right to get married. That is not a right for hetero nor homosexual individuals it is something largely seen as a act of obedience to God with strict stipulations set forth in the bible. Society has watered that down over the decades but it is the first institution established n the bible and why us Christians try to protect that institution. That said many people who claim to be Christian have watered that down as well and the divorce rate in "Christian" homes is no better than non Christian homes. So essentially our inability to actually be the salt of the earth and the light on the hill in a dark world has pretty much ruined it for everyone. I really believe that if society saw Christians actually behave as we claim to believe and saw how much more peaceful our lives were and less chaotic they would be much more likely to be interested in our beliefs but again you can't tell the difference e in the way we behave and nonbelievers behave and admitted I can be part of the problem in some areas as well.

Marriage is a joke. Homo or hetero, no one respects it as an institution of God, labamafan.

It is a tax bracket. And Constitutionally, all people are afforded the same rights afforded to others. Marriage is a legal status that benefits a different tax status, and therefore shouldn't be exclusive to any one group.

On that note, I don't condone, but I also don't give a shite about the gheys. That's their business.

Disagree. People get married for the wrong reasons all the time but tax brackets are not one of them. That said I admit that the idea of marriage is not seen as that by society today but it was the first institution set up in the bible which is why we want to protect it. This is probably why homosexuals desire marriage now and this is how they see the issue. If it is about tax breaks then gov them a common law tax break for all I care but but I don't want to see the institution of marriage corrupted. We have done enough damage to it as is.
