This is a companion thread to the Tennessee and LSU transgender threads.
I posted this thread to put everything into perspective for fearful Tennessee and LSU students/fans who are dissatisfied with their university's gender neutral policies.

During one of the rallies I actually tried to engage in conversation with them because I was kinda upset. I didn't get very far in regards to changing their minds or anything but I did discover that a decent chunk of the rally were Church of Christ kids.

Not if you firmly believe in the morals of the Bible.
Eta: I have no problem with other people being gay and do not hate gays in any way. I just believe it is wrong, it is written. Through the entire 57 members of my family(immediate and non) there isnt a single gay person.

If you firmly believe in the "morals of the Bible" then you can't eat pork, wear mixed fabrics, get divorced or wear any jewelry. Basically you aren't part of mainstream American society.
That doesn't make your opinion invalid, it just makes you a minority.

Depends on what faction, the majority still practices christianity. However, majority of those people stretch their christianity to outline themselves.
As do i to an extent considering i do eat pork, and do wear jewelry but I am "against" divorce. But thats neither this or that considering I also maintain the fact that people can believe in what ever they want to believe in.

So basically you want to pick and choose what rules in the Bible matter and which ones you can ignore?

Church of Christ kids
Most hardline widespread denomination, in my experience, though I've heard it can vary by region.
The Church of Christ in my hometown split before I was born because the preacher's daughter was in a beauty contest. They also don't allow instruments.

With that thinking you could, technically, call every christian in America full of shite. Thats why i referred to the "morals" of the Bible.
and also, the bible doesnt say you cant eat pork, it does in Leviticus but was cleansed in Mark.

i don't get why everyone thinks God needs their help.
also, if you believe in Christ, didn't he die for everyone?
i'm a christian(i guess a very back sliding one), i believe in Jesus, but i think it's silly to go around acting like God cares about social politics.
i don't particularly care to be around gay people(give me the creeps), but i don't think it's a good idea to go around condemning people.
live and let live, keep God out of gov't because religious zealots give me the creeps too.

Eh, morals change all the time. Hundreds of years ago it was considered unChristian to lend your fellow man money with interest. Today no one flinches twice about working at a bank or finance company, even if they have Sunday shifts.
I don't like calling anyone full of shite. I don't know what road they have walked down to get to where they are today.

List is shite. No A&M. Cant be accurate.

Seems like youre putting too much thought into everything I've said in this thread. All Im saying is I am able to maintain what I believe while not passing judgement on to others for what they believe. As in its okay for you to be gay but in terms of me and my family it's is wrong for us.

Only school in a SEC/southern state. How does this align to the "Kentucky isn't the south" argument?

It's the "LB" part that killed A&M ;)
