They are not being treated inhumane. Is it unsettling? Yes.

If it's so fkn inhumane then why do they keep coming?

We always act like this is something new. This needs fixed where it doesn't happen.

But, let's not lose the fact that they are breaking the law, and most citizens just wants the laws of the land enforced.

Oh, so you're willing to turn yourself in for any misdemeanors you've committed? Ever taken office supplies home without permission? That's a misdemeanor. Ever trespassed? A misdemeanor.

Crossing the border illegally is a simple misdemeanor for first time offenders. Please stop the tough guy law and order talk. If every single law on the books were fully enforced, there wouldn't be many people left without a criminal record.

The influx of families from Central America seeking asylum is relatively new over the last 10 years.

How do they work? How do they get legal identification? How do they pay for medical care? How do they do all these things and not break larger laws?

It might only be a misdemeanor for first crossing, but to live life in America (properly) you need a few things to get there. Being illegal night be better than what they have, but they aren't American's, they are ILLEGALS!

Yes. OP is probably off talking about Mexico City. Those aren't the Mexicans and South Americans who are showing up here.

Even worse, whenever I talk to people who were deported (there are tons here), it's almost always for DUI.

Driving with no license while drunk. I know it's anecdotal, but it's literally the only reason I've heard from dozens of people who have been deported. I've never heard of "I was just walking down the street, minding my own business..."

If President Trump had been ambiguous, it'd be a different story.

I work and pay taxes. If these people are vetted, shown to not be criminal in nature, want to go through the citizenship process, get jobs and work and contribute to society, I'm good with it.

If not, then I'm not good with it. Not hard at all.

I said in my earlier post, something you apparently decided to overlook, that we need to fix the process.

The problem is democrats want open borders and voting criminals to flood into the country because that is all they care about. That's why there is a stalemate.

Asylum has three basic requirements:

1. An asylum applicant must establish that he or she fears persecution in their home country;

2. Theapplicant must prove that he or she would be persecuted on account of one of five protected grounds: race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or particular social group; and,

3. An applicant must establish that the government is either involved in the persecution, or unable to control the conduct of private actors.

The illegal aliens from Central America are not qualifying for asylum. Many are claiming that they're victims of gang violence but that does not apply. We have gang violence in the U.S. Nearly every country has that problem.

Central American countries have the familiar problem of having too many people and not enough resources to support them. Instead of encouraging birth control, they see the out-migration of their poorest to any nation that will take them. It's a problem that will become steadily worse as the population of poor people continues to grow unchecked.

I don't know. My guess is they live with friends and family while their asylum application is processing. Here is the asylum process. You can enter the country and wait up to a year to apply for it.

As someone who has been inside our naturalization buildings with my wife's citizenship, it's a shame that most of these people want to be here but know nothing about our country, laws or even speak the primary language. This topic goes beyond ppl stuck at the border. It's even more sad that these people I saw have been in this country for fkn years! YEARS! still not citizens.

You're equating petty theft with crossing a international border...?

I'm not good with it because they broke our laws to get into this country. They have to go back.

I'm all for legal immigration, the more diverse the applicants the better. However, when someone decides he or she is going to come into our country whether we like it or not, well, I see red. That's not the kind of people I want immigrating to the U.S.

It's crazy you see these airport security shows on Netflix where they freak out about a tiny bug that comes into our country, but it's okay for a undocumented human coming in illegally and then it should be our problem.

What have they taken from you?

They take from everyone.

300,000 illegals cross the border every single year specifically to give birth. Nobody pays for the ER births and the children (because they have been born in the US) are immediately eligible for a Medicaid system to which they have never contributed, to the tune of billions every single year.

The unreimbursed costs to McAllen Regional Medical Center for the births alone are $200 million per year. Bay Area RMC in Webster just closed it's doors because of it.

Don't pay taxes, use our roads, education system, medical system, and tons of other tax paid programs as well.

People don't realize that when they use our emergency systems that takes first responders away from actual citizens. That doesn't even touch the amount of law and medical response these ppl get because of the areas they live.

Precisely. One of the most important aspects of legal immigration is the vetting of the health of the potential immigrant. Thousands of potential European immigrants were turned away and sent back from Ellis Island because they had diseases.

Illegal aliens are carrying diseases across the border with them that we haven't seen as big problems in decades. Most specifically, tuberculosis is rebounding as a major health problem. 30% of the Mexican population carries the TB bacterium.

Bovine TB, which is actually a human form, had been wiped out in the U.S. until illegal aliens reintroduced it into California and Texas. Unless we can select immigrants based upon their health, we risk the well-being of our resident population.

I'm a self-avowed Classical Marxist. I'm not Conservative at all. There's a difference between being kind and letting people stomp on your face when they walk through the door. I'm all for kindness, but Mexico needs to take responsibility as well. They purposely let them through their country. I live here, trust me.

It's too bad we don't drone or shoot people at the border.
