So then apply to Michigan or Notre Dame and get both high-level sports and top-notch academics.

If I had it to do over again, I would have picked Georgia or Tulane (I'm aware that's not SEC).

Check out the Culverhouse School of Business at the University of Alabama. I graduated in 2010 with a degree in Accounting and it has served me very well. BAMA is better for business, law, and the liberal arts whereas Auburn is better at science/tech related studies.

Protip: Nobody gives a frick where you go as an undergrad. Pick a school that's fun, affordable, and a place that you'll fit in. No need to go into debt over a fricking bachelor's degree.

Do well enough as an undergrad to make you competitive for different master's programs (or law, business, medical... whatever you want to do). Then get into the best graduate school you can.

Probably econ B.A. but I applied to the business school at AU and UF.

USC and UT have great business schools. I don't know much about AU's or UF's but USC's and UT's highly ranked.
