Bomb a starving country back into the stone age for making threats?
That would be a start, yes.

they attack South Korea or fire a missile towards us. Then, I say drop one nuke right in the middle of pyongyang and fly back to Missouri. They'll get the point and fall back in line.
This is where the stonage thing happens.
Question doesn't NK have the 4th largest standing army in the world?

I vote carpet bomb them if they attack SK or launch a missle that comes within 300 miles of the US. Including Hawaii.

I don't think China would take too kindly to that, and I don't believe the USA wants to open up that can of worms.
Agreed. God help us if this ever happens.

As much as I'd love to liberate their concentration camps right now, if we strike first, china will back them
If they strike first, China will back us
That being said, I'm 95% sure they're not gonna do dick

lol nvm about my 95% statement....id say 75% now that they're telling foreign embassies to evacuate
ETA: they told them to be out by April 10th...April 15th is Kim Il-Sung's birthday and last year they tested a missile to commemorate it...if they test anything right now they're so fricked

Terrible idea. China would end up backing them and again, not a can of worms we want to open up.
I'm still leaning with all of this is NK trying to manufacture a crisis for domestic political reasons. Their leadership hasn't held control for 50 years because their stupid. A war with the United States that they provoke is suicide. They're not going to do it.

continue to do what we've been doing.
North Korea is all bark no bite. We have surrounded them with missile defense ships and stations, we have bombers, carriers, and nuclear subs within strike distance. However, NK wants us to strike first, so they can look like the victims fighting for their freedom. If we call them on their bluff and hold strong, one of a couple things will happen.
1. They will starve and their regime will collapse due to military mutiny when they can't feed their soldiers any more. This is already starting to happen, btw.
2. They get desperate and attack the South. Our missile defense takes out all of their nuclear ballistic missiles, our air force rapes their army which immediately runs out of food, ammo, and gasoline, our navy rapes their subs which can't escape due to having no fuel, and we level their country. Unfortunately, we probably lose most or all 38,000 troops we have stationed along the DMZ.
We give control of the North to the South and the new united Korea becomes a runaway success economically in 10-15 years. China stays out because we agree to help them deal with the millions of North Korean refugees flooding the border.

Well laid out synopsis of the situation.

Thank you. I generally have to rip into Obama for his foreign policy, but on North Korea, he's been handling the situation like a pro. Sometimes, you just have to call their bluff.

Anything but nuclear weapons. I'm not worried about North Korea's capabilities in striking us, I'm just a little worried what China's response would be if we did nuke PRK. I have a suspicion that China might be behind these threats and all of this is a bluff trying to give them a reason to retaliate. I'm sure the military is on this and that's why we haven't seen anything

Exactly, there is a good chance China would back North Korea militarily if we strike first. However, if North Korea is the aggressor, they will be forced to stay on the side lines while we rape NK and get it over with. The sole reason for China propping North Korea up all these years is the knowledge that in the event the North Korean regime folds, China will be hit with a flood of starving North Korean refugees with no skills.
If North Korea strikes first, there is no way China could justify an unprovoked war with its #1 trading partner.
However, if North Korea is attacked, they would just be defending an ally.

Arkansas is the cat on the counter, and Alabama and LSU are the ones fighting. Perfect representation of the SEC rant
