How did you guys pay for your engagement ring? I see some college grads at work making entry level money and their ladies walking around with rocks that look to be 8 to 10 grand.

Have a diamond hook up!
buy in India where 90% of the cutting is done.

Had our 17th anniversary last week. The key is to pick the right one.

I paid for half and my dad paid for the other half

i worked my rear off and almost couldn't afford college that fall. in fact i only took 6 hours.
but i was always broke and it felt like normal with half the classes. one of my coworkers proposed soon after with a 1 CT and i asked how he afforded it.
"same as everything. mom and dad."
**** you. dude was divorced a year later.

i will say this about my parents. they didn't pay for jack **** from 17 on, but when my wife picked out a diamond wedding band to compliment the engagment ring I told her no, i wasn't going to go into debt to start our marriage off, he got wind of it and said he was going to get it for her because I made a wise financial decision.
literally about the only thing they paid for from 17 years on.

I had to pay for the band by myself :(

My dumbass roommate spent $16,000 out of his College fund for a ring and had to go into debt $16,000 for a year of OOS tuition at state. Granted he has a 171,000$ a year job now so no fricks are given
