There is a sad situation going on in New Orleans right now.

Total fatalities in the metro area now total 94.... that's third behind New York City (496) and Seattle (118), but on a per capita basis, New Orleans is by far the hardest hit major metro in the United States.

Deaths from COVID-19 per 1 Million People:

74.0- New Orleans
30.0- Seattle
24.8- New York
12.7- Detroit

Some of the above figures have not been updated today, but as it stands right now, the number of fatalities per capita in New Orleans is 3x worse than in New York.

Please folks take this seriously. I'm afraid we're just getting started and its already a very bleak situation in New Orleans.

Mardi Gras was on 2/25. The incubation period is 14-21 days. We’re 12 days past the longest incubation period. You can’t blame this on Mardi Gras.

Not everyone was infected the same day.
One person may have been infected carried it for ten days. Infected unknown about of people.
Those people carry it for different amount if days infecting people and the cycle just continues.

That’s why social distancing in important

The first case in New Orleans was discovered on March 9, which is 13 days after Mardi Gras. Again-Mardi Gras has nothing to do with the spread of coronavirus. The timeline doesn’t work.

A more likely explanation of the spread and detection of coronavirus in New Orleans and the surrounding areas is the relative density of population compared to other areas and the fact that a large percentage of the population of New Orleans has underlying health problems, are not generally in good health and are not interested in social distancing or proper sanitization.

New Orleans is not a place where people will adhere to social distancing very well.

Totally agree. That’s why NOLA is getting hit hard.
If only, if only Trump would have told the Destroya to cancel Mardi Gras.
Collapsed building with legs dangling causing changes in parade routes, people getting run over by floats and the party went on.
Blame Trump, Blame Trump

New Orleans is its own worst enemy.
Could be a great city if it weren't filled with loons that do drugs and get drunk everyday in front of a collapsed building with a dead man's legs hanging out.
Then these same loons start playing the blame game when bad things start happening because didn't fix their fricking problems. They straight up don't believe real warnings half the time.

The problem is very simple, selfesh people, look at how many people are playing Golf, how many people are walking jogging in Audubon and City parks.

N. O. people are very friendly but foolish one of the reasons we are last on most category listed in the Country.
