When will the wedding planners of the world understand not to set their wedding dates on a Saturday in the Fall?

Not only is it disrespectful to all college football fans, but it pretty much guarantees you will have some no-shows or people checking scores before, after, and even during the ceremony. Who wants that?

My cousin gets married the day before the Miami-LSU opener. That pretty much shredded my hopes of making the trip.

I have a friend from high school that's wedding is coming up as well. His fiancee texted me yesterday for my address, presumably to send me a wedding invitation. I don't have that heart to tell them that, on November 3rd, I'll be in Baton Rouge and not at their wedding.

College football fans, we need to band together for the good of our brethren and put an end to Saturday Fall weddings once and for all!

Attend wedding or watch Yaw Yaw lose to Troy?

Seems like an easy call to me.

How about weddings any time of year.

Let's talk about why men are still falling for this legal neutering.

Semantics. It's close enough to the start of fall.

What gets me is when the happy couple thinks they’re being considerate by scheduling the big day on their team’s bye week.
Newsflash: A bye week for your team may not be a bye for your guests’ teams.

In all honesty, Saturday weddings in the fall used to bug me, but once I became comfortable (guilt-free) immediately declining the invite (and thankfully hitting an age where I no longer had to be an attendant on a seemingly regular basis), I ceased worrying about it.

Small, Vegas weddings in the late spring/summer FTW.
Each one I’ve attended has far and away blown all other weddings out of the water.

I do not go to fall weddings. The games were booked YEARS in advance and the weddings were not. I made plans years in advance for 6-7 Saturday’s in the fall.

Fall marriages are destined to fail.

Unless

They are a 10 minute ceremony in the chapel on campus.

My wedding was the night LSU played Alabama last year. Wasn’t my choice but oh well. Went to Tennessee on the honeymoon to watch LSU and UT

someone should create a website designed for college football fans to send wedding/birthday cards to someone. Basically take a selfie create a wedding card and mail it to them as a gift with congratulations... thoughts of you from my slice of heaven.

Get your priorities straight.

Besides, Miami is going to beat LSU like a red-headed stepchild. It'll be better to not see it in person and just be able to shut the TV off at halftime, instead of having to leave a stadium at halftime, like most LSU fans. And you'll save money.

Same with Bama. The odds of LSU finally winning one after 7 years are none to less than none.

Be thankful you have excuses not to go those games.

It sucks and I wish they wouldn't happen but some weddings are more important than football games. Also with games on phones, it's pretty simple to still get your fix.
