I actually disagree with this.

But flame away.

Weddings can be facetimed.

It sucks and I wish they wouldn't happen but some weddings are more important than football games.

I was always one those people that hated the fall weddings on a Saturday deal. A couple of months ago I found out I would be a part of a fall wedding on a Saturday for a close friend and tbh the last thing I have thought about until this thread was missing some football games. Maybe I'm just a bad fan.

When I got married I realized I'd set the date on a football weekend. Invites had already been printed, location reserved, caterer reserved, the whole shooting match.

I promptly changed the wedding date to the next weekend bc it was our bye week. Had inserts printed with the correct date to slip in the invites and had to change the location bc the original one was already reserved.

I was not about to miss the game to marry a tater. My priorities were firmly in order.

You married a Clemson fan? I didn't know that.

I'm not sure how I feel about this

Sound like your being a bitch

If it’s not on a game day you need to chill out.

I divorced him. Right quick like. But while we were married I allowed absolutely NO tater crap in the house and made him join the Gamecock Club.

He also had a fairly new car that had a Clemson decal on it and I tried scraping that fricker off but the damn thing wouldn't completely come off no matter what I did.....sooooo we traded the car for a new one bc of it and I promptly slapped a Gamecock decal on that bitch and he didn't say a word.

I tried to save the guy but it was a lost cause so I exited stage right.

Pretty much. He knew the evilness that can be me when it comes to Carolina/Clemson and was smart enough not to test those waters.

My cousin gets married the day before the Miami-LSU opener. That pretty much shredded my hopes of making the trip.

Unless they raised you as a child WGAF? Just don't go, I've done the same plenty of times.

I have a friend from high school that's wedding is coming up as well. His fiancee texted me yesterday for my address, presumably to send me a wedding invitation. I don't have that heart to tell them that, on November 3rd, I'll be in Baton Rouge and not at their wedding.

What are you afraid of? Just RSVP with your regrets and leave it at that. Send a gift.

we need to band together for the good of our brethren and put an end to Saturday Fall weddings once and for all!

I get it that females love weddings when the weather gets cool, but what we really need to band together on is being so terrified of telling people no. You're an adult, if you don't want to go to their wedding then don't go. Simple as that.

Have you considered that the problem might be you and not them. Stop worshiping football. It's supposed to be entertainment and not something that controls your life, which apparently it does.

so doing something he doesn't want to should control his life instead?

He's a grown adult man, he is under zero obligation whatsoever to attend a wedding unless it's close family or dear close friend. Cousin? Dude from HS? Who cares? Neither one of them will remember if he was there or not 5 years from now anyway.

Get your priorities straight.

Besides, Miami is going to beat LSU like a red-headed stepchild. It'll be better to not see it in person and just be able to shut the TV off at halftime, instead of having to leave a stadium at halftime, like most LSU fans. And you'll save money.

Same with Bama. The odds of LSU finally winning one after 7 years are none to less than none.

Be thankful you have excuses not to go those games.

If you think Miami will beat LSU that badly, you don't understand anything about college football. Coming from and Ole Miss fan, that's to be expected I guess.

As for Bama, win or lose I'm tailgating and getting black out drunk.

Anyone who schedules a wedding on a saturday in the fall in the south is an a-hole. I tell my wife all the time, I dont care who it is. I wont go if it interferes with Auburn football. frick em. They know the schedule. Plan accordingly.

My wedding was during Dooley's first year, Georgia game. Figured we get killed so I didn't care to miss it. I still watched the first half, much to my now ex wife's chagrin.

We were divorced 16 months later. I'm surprised we survived the honeymoon. Wooooo, I have a great drinking story from that one.

Loving the holier-than-thou posts and the "be an adult" posts.

I swear some of you guys need to be on a wedding forum.

Stop taking everything so literally sheesh.
