It's a smart move, so long as he doesn't get shot down. Gets the international community behind him as a leader who personally acts to stand up to evil. Hopefully he'll get other ME governments to follow his lead.

I just checked his bio. Sandhurst (UK's West Point) graduate, former British army officer, sky dives, rides harleys, scuba dives, and rally races for fun. Clearly he's got a very large brass set.
He also certainly knows better than any of us what would happen if he got captured by ISIS. I pretty much guarantee he won't be pulling any ejection handles should the situation arise.
