Folks with Downs Syndrome are in the same boat
I go as far as to think people with mental illnesses and people who are extremely unintelligent are also covered on a case by case basis administered by the Lord
The "aborigine" argument as well. Or a 15 year old from the Soviet Union who died never knowing who Christ was. Covered in my opinion.
The very nature of God is to forgive people who do not deserve it, thus imo He would of course cover those who are at a cognitive disadvantage or other type of disadvantage (living under tyranny, etc). People "feel sorry" for Downs Syndrome people. It should be the other way around. They are the best human beings on the planet. They sure don't have a PhD in theology. Good for them.
The Lord says "No one comes to the Father except through me." And sure enough I'm sure Jesus intercedes for those who cannot reach a cognitive level to understand things or adequately walk in the light. Or if He decides someone is covered, then by golly they came to the Father through Jesus. Just like the thief on the cross.

Makes me feel so good to see a positive response for you here.
Congratulations, brother. God be with you as you are about to be Justified in God's eyes, and start your journey toward sanctification. Always remember, God is not through with you yet.

The thief on the cross was with Jesus that day without being baptized.

All roads lead to Rome. Everyone knows this.
I cant take seriously any religion that uses powerpoint in church service.

Baptism is not necessary to be saved. It is however, a outward expression of an inward decision, and is a good thing. Although my denomination does do infant baptism, and sprinkling, it will also do immersion. I chose to be dunked in the river I grew up fishing and swimming in. Glad I did.
But accepting by faith Jesus death and resurrection as full payment for my sins is what saved my soul. Jesus is the only way.

The idea is to say you belong to Jesus Christ, and protection to the daily exposure to this heathen world.

Wonderful! I was saved and baptized when I was 9 years old. I'll never forget the feeling. The Bible mentions being a "new creation".

Jesus did give up a weekend for your sins, the least you can do is give back Sunday mornings.

The second "good for you". Stay out of the Haunted Chicken House ....(yarn)
Don't tell the pastor any of your dark secrets ...if he holds you under longer than 2 minutes ...he's trying to wash them all away!

Baptism doesn't save you, repentance and trusting Jesus Christ and His shed blood is what saves you. Baptism is your first act of obedience and it symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection and the death of your old self and the resurrection of your new birth in Christ. That is what we Southern Baptists' believe. Glad you're going to talk with the Pastor and congrats
