Has anyone ever had this conversation with an SO? If so, how'd it go?

I hate having my pic plastered on the interwebz. I hate people walking up to me and saying, "Oh! I saw you and so-and-so were doing this-and-that,etc.!" My personal life is my personal life, and only those allowed in should be able to be a part of it.

Is this anti-social behavior, or is this normal?

By today's standard it is antisocial behavior, but today's standard is not natural. I agree with you.

Yes I have had this conversation but only about a few things that I considered personal. "Checking us in" at some random event is not something I get worked up over. I usually tell her beforehand not to blast something all over facebook. Hasn't been a big deal.

I deleted my Facebook. Every time I logged on my IQ dropped. There was one particular post that made delete it right then and there.

"F*** school. MONEY > JOB > SCHOOL"

I kid you not...

Facebook is terrible.

I deleted my account two years ago and I haven't missed it at all.

Are you insinuating that you've had a conversation where you force your gf to choose who should woudl rather keep, you or facebook?

No, I can honestly say I have never had that convo.

Women are in constant competition with each other and when they want to proudly display they are with me so all the bitches get jealous, who cares?

I don't have a FB, but I don't mind if she puts up pics of us. She has family and friends that live far away so it doesn't seem too contrived.

I do agree that I like my privacy and maybe I am anti-social in that regard. I'm not sure what constitutes that and don't really give a shite. I don't think her posting a pic every now and then when we are doing fun stuff really affects my privacy in the grand scheme of things.

I will say that I have been in a relationship where she was all the time wanting to take a pic to put on FB or something...that is definitely annoying so I think I see where you might be coming from. Mine never got that extreme though.

I'm pretty anti-social, but I think it's a little abnormal to have your attitude.

But then I'm older and most of the pics I get tagged in revolve around my kids, and there's never any drama with FB. I only get on there to troll my conservative friends.

This is about how my relationship goes. I don't want every detail of my life on there, but if it's worthy of attention I'll let her do whatever... I'm fairly lenient, but she knows about where I become annoyed with it.

My girlfriend is young and wants the world to know, but I'm not too concerned about it. I considered giving her a talk about it but eh, it's the way the world is now.

I get mistaken for Brad Pitt all of the time.

In addition to the issues in the OP, here are some additional considerations:

(1) I have a crazy ex-wife who has recently discovered that I have a girlfriend and she has begun to harass me by taking pics of Facebook posts of me and my girlfriend and sending them to me accusing me of cheating on her (she's a professional victim);
(2) Someone is about to get out of prison that I put there for threatening to kill me and others and he is fricking psycho-nuts; and
(3) From 8-6 everyday I spend my work life putting on a smile for the world and dealing with everyone's problem. I enjoy my work, but after work, I'd rather the world frick off.

I've never been fond of Facebook, but now want to be nowhere near it. Every time I try to explain the above situation to the SO, she becomes upset and says she is locking down her FB account so no one can see it. Then a week goes by and I get to hear about what I did last weekend from some semi-stranger who saw it on Facebook, or the ex-wife sends a late night text about it, and the psycho-stalker is probably surfing the web taking notes...

I haven't put the foot down on the SO, but damn-is it really that important? Her entire family is on there. If I wanted my private life to be broadcast to the public, I'd have a show on UHF or rent some billboards.

Me either. There is nothing better than seeing my step sister post her dumb opinion about something and then watching her get destroyed by like 40 people. Facebook drama is my soap opera. I can't wait to tune in everyday.
