Terrible news. Prayers for his family, and for the families of everyone who died in the crash.
(I decided to take image of Kobe and his daughter down, since it might be crossing the line into the lives of his children. Kobe was coaching his kids, and there is a recent picture of he and his daughter that was really heartbreaking to view in light of this news.)

Get right with the Lord....noone knows the day of their appointment and not even our money or accomplishments can delay it one day further.

Glad Forrest got to share his "box of chocolates" analogy with Kobe.

Damn, this hurts. I was never a Kobe fan boy, Im a Spurs fan so Kobe was always the "villain" to me. But he was the perfect villain bc you didn't hate him, he was the kind of nemesis that forced you to respect him. Being born in 91, the Lakers with Kobe and Shaq and their 3peat is the first big dominant sports dynasty that I remember watching. His prime coincided perfectly with my prime childhood/early teenage sports watching years and he was probably the biggest sports figure and legend of that time. This is surreal

Really sad. I’m not a NBA fan but he transcended basketball. Prayers for those he left behind and I pray his girls are OK

Agree. It’s time the collective we of this fine board hold these dbags to a higher standard. Starting with this buttnut and that awful WilliamTaylor fruit fly.
RIP Kobe.

I feel like one of my own children has died. Kobe was a role model for everyone, not just teenagers or NBA fans. He was one of the greatest men to ever walk the face of this earth
Sympathies for his family and friends, but the guy raped a woman and paid for it all to go away. Not the best role model.

Man, I can't believe this. Remember when my brother bought his first or maybe second shoe ever back in the 90's. This is just hard to believe.

Testify or it didn’t happen.

Reports are that his wife, Vanessa, wasn’t onboard.
But four others were.
All lost their lives.
