Because I had a Brer Rabbit book and tape when I was a kid. You know, back when the Dukes of Hazzard and Dallas came on right before/at bedtime.

Anyway, I always did love that story and after moving away from South Louisiana I came to call it my briar patch. The kind of place you could love only if you grew up there and knew it like the back of your hand. Now Song of the South and The Dukes of Hazzard are both taboo in our uber politically correct world. But I've always got memories of the briar patch to sustain me when I get a little homesick.

Zippety doo dah, MFers.

Brer Rabbit was always one of my favorites. That and 3 billy goats gruff, among others.

I got my name because I lived in Italy one summer and the locals called me Bella. It stuck. And I was from Alabama. So I replaced the Ala with Bella. When I first started posting, it was during the twilight crap and people thought I liked Twilight.

For the record, am not a big twilight fan.

It's gotten more poon than most men and it is usually lost in the "kyle Ortons neck beard" conversations although it really ties his whole look together.
