Kickoff will happen in SEC no later than Oct. 3rd. By mid season full stadium attendance will be allowed. IMHO.

I just hope we have a country left on 2021. The economy is gonna get destroyed this fall and winter I’m afraid.

by late July note a rapid drop in cases. Kickoff will happen in SEC no later than Oct. 3rd. By mid season full stadium attendance will be allowed. IMHO.

I hope you're right, but I think you're wrong. NCAA or conferences will pull the plug within three weeks.

Me and my friends will be ok but I don't know about the rest of you especially when we force Orange man out of office. Tough psychological blow for those of you who put your eggs in that basket.

Not to rain on the parade, but the most complex study to date suggest it isn't likely.

I believe if you do the math this study produced we'd reach herd immunity in 2032.

Your study of 60k people in Spain showed 5% with antibodies.

A study of 314k people in New York City showed 26% had antibodies.

That's an ENORMOUS discrepancy.

Most experts say that herd immunity requires at least 60-70% of the population to have antibodies, though this number varies depending on the virus. Because of the toll that this degree of infection would take on the health care system and on the population, the safest way to achieve herd immunity would be through a widely available, widely utilized, effective vaccine.

Which, based on the nature of this particular strain of coronavirus, will almost certainly never exist.

Here's an Article for you and all the Trumpf-tards underestimating this fricking PANDEMIC

No need to call names in an adult convo, Leftist.

Also, nowhere did it say how many died. Just one confirmed death. And it didn’t address his health before he got COVID.

IM NOT SAYING ITS IMPOSSIBLE.

I’m saying it’s improbable to die if you’re young and healthy. People will get it at stadiums. You SHOULD wear masks but you SHOULDN’T be required by law to do so.

And going to COVID parties where you’re trying to get it isn’t the same as following regulations of masks and distancing in a stadium.

This article disproves what I said about 0%.

New York has a component of herd immunity in some areas now. They had to go through hell to get there. If we end up with herd immunity here, it will take longer than July.

Everything you say is correct, except the dates. Everything may or may not be perfectly fine and safe, come November 4th. Whether things return to normal or not, according to "experts" and the media will hinge completely on who "wins."

PANDEMIC

We have a pandemic about once every 4 years. This is the 5th pandemic since the year 2000, and that's not including existing ones like HIV.

And they are 5 of the 6 least deadly pandemics in history. And that's not even considering how many more people there are currently, which makes it even less deadly. That's just total death totals.

HIV is about mid way, killing about 30m people globally.

Remember when they said Africa would be depopulated by HIV? Well now Africa is exploding in population. And that is even with way less medication and testing available to Africans. The HIV tests are notoriously inaccurate and cross react to many different things. The definition for AIDS is in fact different in Africa, allowing for many more diagnosed cases than there would otherwise be.

No shite.

I was just pointing out that there was a contradictory article to the Spain one posted by the NYT two days later.

There’s a fair amount of evidence that the virus has mutated to a more contagious but less virulent form. That would help explain the growing case rate but steady or declining death and hospitalization rate.

NYC being roughly halfway to herd immunity after all they’ve been through is a sign that we will not achieve it without a vaccine.

uhhh, death statistics might matter just a tiny bit as well... At least to the families of the deceased... FWIW!

I’m pro mask, pro 6 ft, etc

But only to keep things under control for healthcare workers. herd immunity is key without a vaccine. Hope you’re right.

Might be a coincidence, but the argument you are quoting is the most recent excuse by Trump and his goons.

They use ‘hospitalization rates’ to downplay the newest spike in cases. The problem with that is that there is a definitive correlation between new cases and future hospitalizations and deaths. The death rate is going up and we aren’t anywhere close to ‘defeating’ the virus.
