Let's slow it down a little bit, boys & girls, with a little Mickey Thomas from Cairo, Ga on lead vocals.

A lot of good songs listed and I will throw Copperhead Road into the mix

OK, I'm 56....I've heard Train, Train AT LEAST 5,000 times. I've seen Blackfoot live several times so I'm familiar with the song.......I just like the beginning (not riff) of Bounty Hunter.
As far as 'Dreams', MH's version is much better (also IMO) than ABB's.

I like both versions of Dreams but they're different tones. ABB is more mellow out and have a smoke while hatchets is more kick arse and drink beer

Well I heard Hatchet's version first so ABB's version.......just doesn't sound right.......hard to say that about an ABB tune tho. Hatchet's version would not have worked without Danny Joe's vocals

Can't believe no one has mentioned any Tom Petty. Arguably the greatest southern rocker ever.

MH version is better. So is the 2010 live version with Greg performing with the Derek Trucks band.
This 1971 version sounds like they forgot to rehearse or were too drunk or too stoned or too tired to really give a damn.

Neil Young is a flaming liberal Canadian and that song is trashing southerners. Or are you trolling?
Either way, I love Neil Young but this song has no place in this thread

Just because TP is from FL that doesn't mean he's southern rock; he ain't. It'd be like saying Jim Morrison is southern rock bc he's from FL.

Most anything by SRV is still good.

Curse this thread. Do you know how long it takes to listen to every youtube version of Green Grass and High Tides?

No 'road trip' playlist is complete without Mexican Blackbird.
