Good looking vehicles that are gas efficient?

Currently have a 2012 Crew Cab Z71 and looking to downsize. I love the truck but am moving and had a work vehicle and lived 2 miles from work. Now going to have about a 30 minute commute each way. Just asking some advice on what some of y'all would recommend. I did have an 08 Infiniti G37 previous that wasn't bad but do have a second kiddo due in September.

Just about any VW TDI (not the big SUV, but a Golf, Sportwagon, or Jetta). You'll get 40-50 mpg in any of them without issue. Has dat diesel/turbo torque, drives like a real car.
A little complex for my taste (high pressure fuel pump, diesel particulate filter, turbo, regeneration, and dual-clutch auto if you don't get manual).
I've always liked VW styling (conservative, understated, holds up well over time). This is my first one (Jetta TDI).

Efficient for a half-ton truck maybe. Not really "efficient" in absolute terms.
Source: my dad has one.
I love the F-150 for the record.

Sounds cheesy but don't think I could buy a truck with a V6 or else I'd trade up to the new 2014 V6 All Star Edition.

I drove a 96 Ford Bronco with a 351W that got 10 mpgs city and highway for years. Anything better than that is efficient to me.

that's an awesome way to think about it!
I have been looking at jettas or a passat tdi.

I like them and like the interior style they have going but don't know if I could see myself in a wagon lol

I like it. I think it's a pretty good looking car, and it's got room for stuff.
Trucks are for hicks, and SUVs are for Stepford Wives.
Plus, I figure I'm a lot less likely to get pulled over because who really does anything messed up in a wagon?

My wife has a 2010 Kia Forte. Decent little car.
A car that has caught my eye is the Hyundai Veloster. Check it out. Bad arse looking gas saver.

Before I bought my gas Jetta I looked for a TDI for three months. They are Impossible to find in the south. I agree with your statement wholeheartedly though.

I can't tell if you're being serious or not.

Corvettes get 24 MPG at least that's what my window sticker said....

Bought my wife the Jetta Sportwagen TDI and she loves that thing...I'll admit that it's pretty awesome. 500+ miles to a tank that you can fill up for ~$50 is very nice, especially when I spend $75-80 to fill up my truck and I'm lucky to get 325 miles on that tank

2014 Stingray Corvette. Popular Mechanics got 37.3 mpg out of it.

The Results
Both the 2009 C6 and the 2014 C7 Corvettes were equipped with 3.42:1 final drive ratios, but the deeper overdrive in the new car meant the new car's engine was turning slower in the test. Where the C6's LS3 ran at about 1300 rpm at 55 mph, the C7's LT1 needed only 1100 rpm to maintain the same easygoing pace. There was the slightest drop in exhaust note when the LT1 would deactivate half its cylinders. But otherwise, the whole drive was utterly uneventful.
Even going up the grade near Nojoqui Falls, the LT1 never stumbled, strained, or begged for a downshift. Evidently, this is a car that not only will rip from 0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds and consume the quarter-mile in a scalding 12.2 seconds, but also cruise along at low speed like an old Buick Park Avenue with radar lock on all-you-can-eat shrimp night at Red Lobster.
As I pulled up to the same pump at which I had initially filled the Corvette, the trip computer showed that I had traveled 124.7 miles at an average speed of 53 mph and consumed fuel at the rate of 34.0 mpg. Impressive. But during the 2009 test the C6 Corvette's onboard computer had proved conservative: It indicated only 30.5 mpg before refueling bumped that number up. So I filled up the new Corvette; it took only 3.34 gallons to refuel the C7 after the trip. That's a stunning 37.3 mpg over that course, almost 14 percent more parsimonious than the mileage performance turned in by the 2009 car.
