Very sad. Thoughts and prayers to the victims family. He was let go from the team in 2012 due to some mental issues, he obviously is not all there

I understand this is SEC-related and we never shy away from talking about the misdeeds of ex-SEC athletes, but it always feels tawdry posting horrible stuff like this on SEC-R. I don't think you're trying to troll the fanbase, but it stills feels off somehow.

We all speculated he had mental issues after randomly running away one day. Sad that he lost it totally.

Caught 3-4 passes in the Bama win in '12 and went missing for few weeks, showed up in Dallas and never came back.
Basically had a mental breakdown, and has apparently had a lot of mental issues since. Spent some time in jail for stealing from a family member.

This is the guy who mysteriously dissappeared after the Bama game in 2012, was found in his friend's basement a few days later and left the team. We never really got an explanation but the rumor was he is a schizophrenic.
If true, this isnt all that surprising. Sad story for sure.

yep. thomas johnson. was a 5* recruit and was having a solid freshman year before quitting

I vaguely remember this guy other than being a stud recruit. Sad for everyone involved.
